In 1994, Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson were brutally murdered at her home in Brentwood, California. O. J. A Florida bankruptcy court awarded the rights to the Goldmans in August 2007 to partially satisfy the unpaid civil judgment, which has risen, with interest, to over $38 million.

He did it!

...he convinced me. It was all Nicole's fault. She badgered him into marrying her. She badgered him into divorcing her, then she badgered him into killing her. It's all so clear now. And Ron Goldman? He irritated The Juice with his karate moves. Had to kill him! None of this is a surprise - the narrative, the 'reasoning', the victimization of OJ by OJ: Simpson comes off as a pitiful, self-serving narcissist. Every time he says "to be honest..." you think, 'yyyeah. Here it comes...' and he launches into another intricate rationalization of why he's such a nice guy. Why he did his best! But it was everyone else's fault. SHe contradicts himself at almost every point. And some of his points are believable, even credible. But even if you granted him everything about Nicole - drugs, hysteria- it never adds up. Obviously not to murder, but...his own behavior doesn't make sense! He sounds like a child! - throwing up anything possible to justify what he didn't do but if he did he had reason to but he didn't so, uh, there. The narrator does a spooky imitation of Simpson. The writing is good and well-paced. The introduction by Kim Goldman feels unnecessarily long, however real and sincere. Almost as interesting as the text itself is the forward by the Pablo Fenjves - that memorable witness who heard the 'baleful moaning' of the Akita, and the ghostwriter of this book. He comes off as more than credible and fair. For me, this book put a sound 'period' on the end of the OJ chapter. Listening to the intricate elaborations of a bad liar took that "IF" right out of the title. He Did It.

Very good

First of all I went into it thinking he was innocent and still do. Most people just assume OJ is guilty because of the history and generally that's the narrative that's been portrayed. But I just don't think there is enough evidence to prove it. He might have committed the crime but he is innocent of the charges there is a difference. However chapter 8 in this audiobook did give me chills and left me thinking about it a lot replaying the words over in my head is this a confession or not I can't say. The first chapter is just preaching from the Goldman family that I skipped through parts are ok when they explain how they got the rights to the book. The second chapter is the ghost writers thoughts which are quite insightful, and everything up to chapter 8 is basically relationship background as OJ saw it. Most of which I didn't know and are quite important to the story.

The chaper of interrogations is a little hard to follow. The murders are told fast and he never states his thoughts or feeling before or after trial.

I’m SHOCKED

It is a great book, super informative. it’s so sad, and upsetting. I never doubted that OJ was the murderer. I just can’t believe so much about how it all played out.

I recommend this book highly to anyone.

Sjocking

This book is absolutely shocking from the extended forwards to the end comments by Dominick Dunne.

it's ok

Not a terrible read but only found a couple chapters interesting. The remaining chapters seem to be Simpson trying to show what a great person he is. Not in a subtle way. OVER THE TOP pandering.

Interesting

O.J. Simpson’s attempt to redirect blame or “prove” his innocence backfired immensely. The only truth he confirmed was how much of a narcissist he is. Hearing his story in his own words (through the use of a ghost writer) was as much revealing as it was infuriating.

The book captured the reader’s attention from the explanation of how this book came to be through the entire story and even the Forward. There were a few points where I just wanted him to get on to the night in question; but in the end I found that everything leading up to the actual murders was more revealing than the “hypothetical” description of what happened that night.

Narrator sounds like OJ.

I read this book in the past when a copy was floating around the internet. When I saw this was available on Audible I immediately added it to my library and began to listen. It's from a "imaginary" point of view of OJ the night we all vividly remember/real life experiences between Nicole and OJ. Lots of narcissistic chapters. I applaud the Goldman's for putting this book out in the open. Narrator sounds like OJ. Creepy and chilling.

Do not judge until you listen

I could never have listened or read this account until the Goldmans were awarded the rights. Thank you for never giving up. As always you all are in our prayers. May all this bring closure if it really exists. You all are True heroes. The ones who know what they are about to do is dangerous but do it anyway because it is the right thing to do. You all have truly honored Ron the truest of heroes.
