Publisher's summary

Meditation makes you more productive because it lets you earn back time. For each minute you spend meditating, you'll earn around nine minutes back, as Chris Bailey - author of The Productivity Project and Hyperfocus - will show in this candid and counter-intuitive guide to the productivity benefits of meditation.

How to Train Your Mind digs deep into the practical, tactical benefits of a meditation practice - and how to integrate a meditation ritual into your own life. In addition to calming your mind and allowing you to slow down in an overanxious world, research shows that meditation can de-stimulate your mind so you can think more clearly, procrastinate less, and be more effective at everything you do - at work and at home.

Featuring guided meditations designed to fit your busy, unpredictable schedule, How to Train Your Mind is the ideal guide for anyone looking to improve productivity without sacrificing time. While much has been written about the spiritual and intangible benefits of meditation, as far as our productivity is concerned, meditation is in a league all its own.

Good source of motivation to start meditating

Picked it up on a whim, and found it engaging and inspiring. It really took good advantage of the audiobook format, weaving short meditations in with the text.

Wow! Surprisingly Exceptional!

I’m a fan of Chris. I read his blog regularly. But this blew me a away. I say this as a compliment since I am a fan. That he can elevate and add to the value he already provides was a welcomed surprised.

I will restart my meditation practice, to live a more productive and meaningful life.

One of my best audiobooks ever.

Honest. To the point. Funny. Great narrative (prob because read by the author). Not too long but still detailed. No fluff, No criticizing others is so much appreciated. Meditation is something I have been trying to practice and learning more about, but truly still felt in the dark about what the heck I’m trying to do and felt horrible about it. Until this book.
I am a very anxious person I know this will help me. I didn’t go after it because of ‘productivity’ but tbh my productivity is almost nothing because I can’t focus or concentrate or remember anything. So I do actually appreciate that this book is written from somewhat a productivity perspective. If that’s not your jam, no worry. I do think this is super helpful to every human. I hope every human gives it a go. THANK YOU Chris Bailey.

Finally! The perfect practical guide to meditation

I've read the science, the blogs, and listened to the podcasts. None have so clearly, rationally, and compellingly explained the benefit and function of practicing meditation and mindfulness. "If you can focus on your breath, you can focus on anything." There's zero malarkey nor any mysticism in this text, yet nothing uninviting if you wish to BYO. I am compelled to commit to at least 2 minutes a day immediately. Bravo!

The reviews are true

I kinda stumbled across this while looking for a new sci-fi. But this is exactly what I needed. Gunna get a little tmi here. But my wife is far away now for the next year. I’ve always have had a ton of insecurities from a previous marriage and I have pretty bad negative thinking. I’ve been on a self improvement kick and started putting this into practice. I know this audiobook is geared towards productivity but the author does a good job at relating this to other topics as well. I’ve put meditation into practice as of 3 days now and I can tell you that I already noticed improvements in my inner dialogue. Not that it’s perfect and I’m “cured” lol but I will continue this practice without a doubt. The presentation is excellent and the content is just enough but doesn’t talk you to death. They lay out reasonable expectations. I do suggest this audio book if you have the slightest inclination of listening. It’s only 3 hours and could add an extra tool to help you out.

How to train your Dragon

I am still listening, enjoying the practicality of it and the facts.. It keeps reminding me of How to train Your Dragon story..as the mind is a wild powerful creature too and needs to be trained accordingly...the ideas of this book can help to be more selfaware and improve the focus.

The productive practice- meditation

I listened to the book two times back to back. With the author's mindfulness of keeping the book to the point in not with a lot of fluff it allowed me to commit this amount of time to the book. Meditation is something that I've attempted to adapt or add to my morning routine and listening to this was just another reminder.
