Story
Alcohol is an intense, addicting poison that will slowly eat away at you. My journey to going alcohol-free started with the day I was told that I had 48 hours left to live due to consumption. You may know that too much of anything isn’t good for you, but there’s nothing good about alcohol. It’s a silent killer, perpetuated by society as a fun, lighthearted action. How much about alcohol do you really know? It’s time you cut ties with alcohol for good, because it’ll save your sanity and might just save your life.

Nor does it require you to stock up on a new group of supplements, specific food items, or "lose weight quick" guides. The psychological impact of intuitive eating is powerful. It aims to remove the barriers of foods you eat versus foods you are not permitted to have and puts the decision-making in your mind and body.

Publisher's Summary
Alcohol is the most socially acceptable drug on the market and the most accessible for almost anyone, regardless of age. Three-quarters of all adults drink. If you are listening to this book, it is highly likely that you want to cut back on your drinking. Why do you think you drink too much? Your health, your family, your finances. How much is too much? Even reducing your alcohol intake by half can lead to improvements in your health, finances, and livelihood.
How to Control Your Alcohol Consumption is not about quitting drinking. Instead, this book presents the facts about alcohol, its effects on the body, and its addictive properties, as well as tips and tricks to help you cut back on the amount you are drinking and methods to negate some withdrawal effects. Alcohol does not have to control you any longer. Decreasing your regular intake will give you back control and allow you to reclaim your life.

A Guide in Controlling A Potential Addiction
Alcohol may be a legal and socially acceptable drug that was once outlawed during the Prohibition Era, but despite its current status, it still remains a controversial hot topic. Especially amongst various religious denominations. That said, one fact that tends to be overlooked is that wine back in those days was prescribed by doctors to their patients to cure things such as indigestion. To be fair, these days, any kind of medication can be abused and/or become addictive. In the case of alcohol, it can be controlled and moderated. I've always been taught that the sin is not in the alcohol, the sin is in the person who is using the alcohol. This book is a well narrated and produced guide in controlling a potential addiction. All of this said, I am not attacking anyone on either end of the moral debate of alcohol. People have the right to make their own choices in life. Whether one drink or doesn't is all a matter of one's own personal moral and spiritual conviction. Recommended.

Truly Useful Info!
This is never going to be an easy subject to deal with - whether you have an alcoholic in your own family, it's a friend or it's you... the stress of trying to help or change, knowing what approaches to take, what to avoid ... it's really tough.
This book takes a no nonsense approach to breaking things down in a way that is refreshingly easy to digest.
I would recommend people read this even if you don't think you have an alcoholic in your circle of friends and family - you may realize after reading it, that in fact someone in your circle is struggling with this affliction.
My only issue with the audiobook is that the narration doesn't quite do justice to the content - it's clearly spoken, but the sentences of broken with pauses which are probably due to a teleprompter, and don't match the actual sentence structure. This is not a make or break issue - still listen - it will be worthwhile!

A new vision for you
I firmly believe this book is the BEST start for understanding why you should quit intoxicants altogether in your life. It does require your understanding that your personal adjustment to life without it is going to take time, be challenging in a world that revolves around alcohol, and physically and mentally be a huge change in your life. It's easier said than done, but this book gives a massive push and motivation to not give up.

A fascinating & informative book!
This book is a must read for all who like to enjoy drinking alcohol and especially those who are not sure about the facts regarding alcohol. In my opinion all coming of age teens should hear these facts before consuming alcohol. The author very clearly sets out the facts regarding alcohol and effects. Furthermore, the author presents the facts about addictive properties of alcohol and how to quit or be more responsible when consuming it. This book is easy to listen to, clear to follow and could change your life for the better.

Situation and boundary wisdom
This book has lots of wisdom on how to manage situations, boundaries, suggestions to change behaviour to help cut back drinking, and some compelling reasons why.
I'm not a drinker (have never liked the taste of alcohol much and medication prevents me from drinking more recently) BUT I could easily replace cutting back drinking to cutting back sugar/soft drinks/unhealthy food and still find this book helpful for managing situations and boundaries and how to communicate to others what I need to live a healthier life.
So, if you are curious about your relationship with alcohol this is a good place to start, and if you're a friend or relative of someone who is struggling, this is a great book to understand more and how to be supportive.
In addition, as I listened on Audible, the narrator is clear and easy to understand and for me personally I turned up the pace on the listening speed to 1.20 and it was just right. Thank you.

I found this book informative and well written.
How To Control Your Addiction To Alcohol. By Jason Newman.
You don’t have to have a drink problem to enjoy this book. I listened to the Audible version and found it most informative. I found the science behind the writing to be well researched and well thought out.
You might find it useful if someone you know is having problems. Although the book is primarily about alcohol, it does touch on all sorts of addiction and addictive personality. I would definitely recommend it for people with a genuine interest in the subject.
I also found the production of the Audio book to be of a high standard
