Janet Evanovich’s #1 New York Times bestselling sensation Stephanie Plum returns in her twenty-forth thriller as mutilated corpses litter the streets of New Jersey...

Trouble comes in bunches for Stephanie Plum. First, professional grave robber and semi-professional loon, Simon Diggery, won’t let her take him in until she agrees to care for his boa constrictor, Ethel. Stephanie’s main qualification for babysitting an extremely large snake is that she owns a stun gun—whether that’s for use on the wandering serpent or the petrified neighbors remains to be seen.

Events take a dark turn when headless bodies start appearing across town. At first, it’s just corpses from a funeral home and the morgue that have had the heads removed. But when a homeless man is murdered and dumped behind a church Stephanie knows that she’s the only one with a prayer of catching this killer.

If all that’s not enough, Diesel’s back in town. The 6-foot-tall, blonde-haired hunk is a man who accepts no limits—that includes locked doors, closed windows and underwear. Trenton’s hottest cop, Joe Morelli isn’t pleased at this unexpected arrival nor is Ranger, the high-powered security consultant who has his own plans for Stephanie.

As usual Jersey’s favorite bounty hunter is stuck in the middle with more questions than answers. What’s the deal with Grandma Mazur’s latest online paramour? Who is behind the startling epidemic of mutilated corpses? And is the enigmatic Diesel’s sudden appearance a coincidence or the cause of recent deadly events?

Where does Hardcore Twenty-Four rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Funny fluff.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Not really, I used to enjoy these books a lot however, this book left me feeling like I had wasted a credit.

What does Lorelei King bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Lorelei King is an excellent narrator full of character voices that are consistent and hearty.

If you could take any character from Hardcore Twenty-Four out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Lula, she is always good for a laugh!

Any additional comments?

While the Stephanie Plum series is funny it has gotten sort of old. It is the same old stuff different book for the past I would say 5 books. Stephanie hasn't evolved, the love quadrangle is old, there is just no substance left. I think this is probably my last Plum series audiobook since my family agrees that we are sort of over it. We listen to other titles by this author and I do enjoy her other works.

Probably My Last

I'm getting tired of the same phrases used to describe characters and I'm struggling to understand what these guys see in Stephanie (well she drops her pants for them pretty much whenever they ask so that could have something to do with it) I want something new and fresh. heck, even Ranger hooking up with Lulu sounds a bit more interesting than the stuff we've been getting...

kind of turned Stephanie into a slut...

Not as funny or interesting as Twenty Three, but still fairly entertaining, especially if you like the paranormal (can't go into much detail about this topic without spoilers). S. Plum had a new Mercedes less than two hours before she crashed it?! I see a pattern here, each book she has a car less and less before she crashes into something, gets it blown up, or stolen. LOL

Not as great as previous novels

Typical Plum story. Super fun to listen to! Stories just keep getting better & better.

Love Stephanie Plum

Loved it. Held my interest. Can not wait for the next book. The last chapter had to close everything up to quick. Could have spent more time for the ending.

Good book as always. Holds your interest can't wa

Would you listen to Hardcore Twenty-Four again? Why?

I have listened to them all and yes I sure would.

Which character – as performed by Lorelei King – was your favorite?

Lula, or Grandma but then there's Ranger (who wouldn't like him). Oh my, don't forget Joe. I am having troubles with who is my favorite.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

We listen to Audible while we travel in the car. We listen from start to finish. Even got my husband sucked into the series around book 11. We enjoy the reader as well, which makes or breaks a book.

I love Stephanie Plum!

Sorry didn't care for the subject matter and it was difficult to get through. Sorry again. I will say that I am starting Look Alive Twenty Five now and hope the story is back to its usual standard.

No Not This One

Ms. Evanovich is back on top! Several of the middle teen numbered books got a little boring, but the last few were great. The main characters in series are all funny and each have their moments. Stephanie and Lula are a riot. Stephanie and Joe are good together, but I miss Stephanie and ranger. That "Babe." just sends thrills through me. This plot is a winner. With the zombie craze all the rage today, the plot is hilarious twist. Lorelei King is one of the best narrators out there. She can do any voice and makes me the action. #Funny #New Jersey #Quirky #tagsgiving #sweepstakes

24 stars for Janet Evanovich!

Janet Evanovich does not disappoint. Her humor continues to amuse even though this is Book 24 of the Stephanie Plum number series. Her descriptions are picture painting even when a little gruesome. I could image Digger's trailer in the different conditions as well as the stiff bodied zombies and of course her fantastic Grandma. Thank you, again. Is Stephanie ever going to have to choose one guy? I really hope not.
