A 2016 study compared four different types of meditation, and found that they each have their own unique benefits.

During body scan, for example, participants saw the biggest increases in how aware they were of their bodies (unsurprisingly) and the sharpest decline in the number of thoughts they were having, particularly negative thoughts and thoughts related to the past and future. Loving-kindness meditation led to the greatest boost in their feelings of warmth and positive thoughts about others. Meanwhile, observing-thought meditation seemed to increase participants’ awareness of their thoughts the most. Previous research also suggests that observing-thought meditation has an advantage in reducing our judgmental attitude toward others.

Very helpful to fall asleep quickly

"Life is full of stress and frustrations this audio book has you step back, clear your mind and take a deep breath with these daily exercises so you can be aware of your body language, watching what you say, journalism etc.. I found it very helpful when I start thinking negative to step back and say wait it is really not that bad. But only with practice will things be better in your life."

Very calm narration

"I've enjoyed listening to this a couple of times so far, his voice is calming and didn't grate. It wasn't expensive so I'd say give it a try. It's altogether enjoyable and very easy to follow audio book especially for beginners like my friend. I recommend this book to every person who has thought about meditation - no matter the style or type."

Very pleasant experience with this

Guided meditation is a good way to end a busy day, or start a busy day with a mindset of peace; this is the first meditation video I have followed and I found it an uncomplicated, pleasant experience, easy to follow for beginners. I really enjoyed this audiobook. Being new to meditation, I didn't know what to expect. The author is very helpful in guiding you through practice in a calm manner. Very worth it! Excellent guided meditation. Very restful and not intrusive, the voice of the narrator is also very calming.

Wonderful tips to sleep

"Like many people today I've been looking for better ways to manage stress and to find some peace. I was trying to meditate on my own for months and found it difficult. I was ready to give up, but I didn't. I felt meditation could help me if I could find some guidance, so I did some searching and found this audiobook. It is wonderful. It helps me focus and afterwards, I feel great. Usually, I find noises (voices) very distracting during meditation, but the author's voice is soothing like a caress though it took a little getting used to hear someone talk after a long silence."

Helpful for getting sleep faster

"Self Hypnosis is a complicated and tough thing to do but I appreciate how easy this audio book makes it. There are lot of exercise within the audio book that will prove helpful to people to sleep smartly. The narration is good as well. To the people who toss and turn when they try to fall asleep, this audio book might prove to be helpful because sleep meditation allows you to relax your body and slow down your thoughts so you can get to sleep quicker and with ease."

Fantastic put this on at bed time

Fantastic put this on at bed time sends right off to sleep. The good thing about this one is your not awakens by the different tone in voice or high pitched or moments of quietness then goes loads that I've found some sleep meditations to be. I can't remember what happens after I falls sleep but if I'm ever half awake I think it's some for of music after the initial talking to sleep and find it easier and easier to drift off the more I listen. Highly recommended from someone who is always looking for a new sleep meditation.

This was the first "hypnosis" audio book

This was the first "hypnosis" audio book I purchased, and I absolutely love it. I fall asleep each and every time I listen to it, and I actually look forward to bedtime now because I know I'll fall asleep quickly. The only complaint I have is the same as a previous reviewers: Audible's own "You've been listening to Audible" at the end of the recording wakes me up every night.

I love the nature's sound so much

"I love the nature's sound so much. Haven't heard the sounds of relaxing wind and the noise of the ocean for a long time. But now, I can listen to it if I want to. Happier with this purchase.

"I have never been so happy to be wrong! I'm not sure if hypnotizing is the right word but it does help to relax me and I have yet to stay awake for the entire recording. I wake up before the alarm goes off now feeling rested. I could be happier with this purchase. Perfect, gentle, soothing, powerful and relaxing. it helps me with my study and concentration and keeps me awake when I need to study late at night."

Listening to this at bedtime truly helps me

"I have thoroughly enjoyed this audible. It was unnatural at first to do a meditation on money, but I’ve come to accept that abundance should be loved! I especially like that this is a sleep meditation, because the mind is always listening, and sleep time is the perfect time to reprogram the mind! Love it! This audiobook book will help you calm down your mind and will also help in overcoming fear and let go, really good audio book for people who wanna calm down.

Fascinating listen

"After a riding accident where the helmet hit my skull I had a bad concussion, my day was night- and I slept all day. I stayed awake and all night and night was day. i purchased 3 different hypnosis problems and they didn't work. This one had me asleep and rested in the morning. the voice was soothing and quiet and the story line was correct. The only one that worked. Bring my peace back."

This book is amazing!

"I was skeptical at first, but I needed something to help me sleep. After listening to the recording and using it consistently on nights when I've got so many things running through my mind. I just fall right to sleep. as soon as the narrator's voice comes on I start yawning. This is a wonderful alternative to any prescriptions or over the counter sleep aids, and much safer."

"We've been dealing with a family emergency, and it has been truly amazing how calming these affirmations are for me, even in the middle of much sadness. Incredible for deep sleep!

"This was pretty good. It made me feel relaxed and calm and I'm pretty glad that I listened to it! The narrator was spectacular, with the perfect voice for hypnosis and the ambient noise was incredibly calming. To me, it felt a bit like being underwater, where other noises are muted and everything is calm and you're alone, right before your lungs start burning and you have to resurface."

"I love this! I usually began my mornings with mental list of things I needed to get accomplished that day. A cup of stress first thing in the morning. Well organized!

"Finally... something that works consistently. Listened a few nights in a row and was happy with the results. Deep sleep, happily waking up. Wireless earphones do the trick. I don't listen very loudly, don't need to, I'm asleep after a few mins anyway. Every time!! Outstanding way to get to sleep each night, especially during the weekdays where it's harder for me to get to bed after long days. Been searching for something like this. Excellent!!"

"Realistic and useful audible "

"This is the best money you will ever spend if you suffer from poor sleep or lack off. You have to listen to this every night. It can take a few nights or a week before you notice the full effect. Relax and just listen to it.

Effective listen!

"I found this hypnosis to be very effective at getting me to fall asleep quickly. I normally toss and turn for at least an hour before finally checking out for the night - but I was able to bypass this usual cycle while listening to this audiobook. I don't know if I'd say I was ""hypnotized"" in the traditional use of the word, but I certainly felt more relaxed and was able to get to sleep before the end of the hypnosis session. I found it beneficial and will be trying it again when I have trouble falling asleep."

Loved this audible

"I love this sleep affirmations book in every way. It is beautiful to look at, beautiful to hold, and its inner beauty is just what I need to soothe my soul. Refreshing!

"This book was so relaxing to listen to that I'm not sure if I learned anything because I feel asleep! I guess that's the idea but now I don't know how to rate the book. I'm planning to keep at it and see what the results are. You should try it too!
I listened to this last night as I was falling asleep. I used the sleep timer on Audible so it would turn of. I slept so peaceful and woke rested. I then listened to this in the morning so I could review it with knowledge. I will definitely use this."
