Publisher's summary

The king of darkness will rule both realms in the future - or so the legends say. Prince Moray, heir to the Buacach Throne, practices forbidden black magic. Soon, he will enter forsaken Golgotha and reign over both realms as powerful king. But a coup destroys his plans, and he’s cast into Golgotha to die.

Fighting alongside his brother, his betrothed, and a smart mouth mercenary, Moray holds on to hope that he can rule both realms. But when he disobeys Master’s orders to kill his betrothed, Moray must make a choice: save his family, or save himself? And can he defeat Master’s plans…and kill a warlock who begins killing his friends one by one?

Loved the nods to biblical faith!

Loved every moment of this novel. The connections to biblical concepts, the usage of original language meaning, etc. Soooo good! Well written, meaningful, 100/10!

Blown away!!!

This book was amazing! Never once was I need. Ms. Watts does a great job of blending the plot together and keeping you wanting to know what happens next. I was happy to see Sadon have a change of heart at the end. Ama and Finnegan are my favorite characters so far. The realm of Golgotha is dark and dangerous and Ms. Watts paints the picture of that very well. Exciting plot, great characters... just a great story. And if you're Christian you'll pick up on the cool biblical references thrown in Can't wait for book 2. Great story! 5 stars! Kerr did a great job with the voices. Each one was unique and it was easy to know what characters were speaking. My first time hearing this narrator and I'll be sure to look for more of his work!

Good start

Narrator did an amazing job depicting each character and making the story come alive.

A story of royalty, magic, gods and demons. Alternate worlds collide and separate a family just to unite and forge not only a stronger bond but redefine the family dynamic. Will good prevail? Or will those with evil intent come on top?

The story itself was good and very catchy. I felt some of the minor details were lacking and at times I had to go back and replay some details to get a better feel for what the author was trying to say. But overall I’d listen/read again and can’t wait for book 2 and see how the misfitted family handles their next adventure.
