Publisher's summary

From USA Today best-selling author Rina Kent comes a new stand-alone enemies-to-lovers college romance.

I’m trapped by the devil. What started as an innocent mistake turned into actual hell.

In my defense, I didn’t mean to get involved with a mafia prince. But he barged through my defenses anyway. He stalked me from the shadows and stole me from the life I know.

Jeremy Volkov might appear charming, but a true predator lurks inside. He’s out to possess, own, and keep me.

But I have no plans to stick around in his blood-soaked world. Or so I think.

This book is a dark unconventional romance and contains themes that aren't to everyone's liking.

Opposites attract at its finest!

To say that I'm obsessed with this series would be an understatement. There's so much to love: the college setting, the accents (I frigging love listening to books with different accents!), the alphahole males, and SO MUCH STEAM.

In this particular story from the Legacy of Gods series, we get to learn more about Jeremy and Cecily. So far, we have seen Jeremy as violent yet cunning. A protective brother, but a ruthless leader. There is nothing particularly nice about his demeanor. Cecily is almost the opposite. Although she is fiercely independent, she is also the mother-hen of her friend group. She is kind and will often put the needs of her friends above her own.

OBVIOUSLY we are in for lots of back and forth between these two (both in and out of the sheets, lol).

Here's what I loved:
1. I love how NEXT LEVEL stalker Jeremy became. Is it toxic? Absolutely. Does that stop me from loving it in my romance reads? Absolutely NOT.
2. Despite how much of a jerk Jeremy can be, he never allows Cecily to be anything other than her TRUE self. Kinks and all!
3. Y'all---we get some grovel! It's not as much as I would've liked, but I do love me a good grovel moment.
4. The mystery in this book was a nice added touch!

If you haven't yet started this series, what are you waiting for??? Go for the DL!

Narration ruins the story

Zara voicing the males in her chapters and then Teddy voicing the females in his chapters unfortunately ruins the book. Sounds super cheesy. Not sure why Teddy didn’t read his lines during her chapters and vice versa. Also, nothing will top the first book.

Brilliant!!!

This is the best of the best of Rina Kent. Twisted, addictive, depraved and enchanting, I was RAVENOUS for this story. The intensity, the emotive complexity, and the angst had me clawing at the pages for more. Hands down one of my favorite Rina books to date and the best of the series. Of course the son of my favorite Rina hero showed and showed out- and completely stole the #1 spot in my heart. This book is everything that I live for in a Rina story....and so much more.

If you are looking for over the top, psycho possessive, darkly swoony obsessive characters, holy moly MEET JEREMY. I AM LITERALLY OBSESSED WITH JEREMEY- I CLAIM IN NOW. I should have known, though, because Adrian is my all time favorite Rina Kent anti-hero, and Jeremy is cut from the same twistedly dreamy, manipulative, and controlling cloth that his father is. OF COURSE his son would come along and say "your favorite huh? here, hold my weapons, I'll prove you wrong." He's perfect, PERFECT. He's the dream psycho possessive caveman antihero. Like PSYCHO. But he also has so much soul and buried vulnerability, it somehow makes his over the top obsession even more magnetic and compelling- it gives it more depth, because it means a lot for Jeremy to act in this way. And that he only acts this way because his need for Cecily draws it out of him. It’s like his crazy behavior is the most toxically romantic expression of the depth of his heart. Because Rina paired all his intensity with so much genuine care- he’s got a bit of a bleeding heart. Oh, he's gonna take all the power and control, but he's also gonna woo you through it. The way he expresses his devotion- small acts of kindness, physical worship, gifts and meaningful moments- he’s literally, the swooniest pyscho ever. He's jealous of freaking AVA! Of manga characters! haha, I love him.

While I’m in love with Jeremy, I anticipated (and hoped) he’d be exactly how I thought he’d be. It’s Cecily that’s the real revelation. She’s not at all what she appears to be- in fact what many of friends assume her to be. Girl has buried parts of herself so deep, it’s going to take a true psycho to claw it out of her. I related so intensely to the vulnerable parts of this character- how she armors herself with intellect and stoicism, in caretaking for others. How she longs for something she fears she’ll never have. Her fears, her insecurities, her desperation for connection. Her heart just wants to be tethered, and it’s caused her to make mistakes and hide herself. She’s a devastatingly beautiful heroine. And I FLOVE Cecily's heart and soul so much- she’s so kind and good at her core.

I AM OBSESSED with both of these characters. Their character voices were so clearly conveyed, so inviting, and so meta-aware. The way Rina unfolds their psychological complexity and emotional connection in words on the page is such a powerful act of creative prowess. And it’s made possible by the fact that these are probably Rina’s two most self-aware characters she’s ever written. They are deeply in touch with themselves. loved about both of them is just how honest they are with themselves about their issues and needs, why they are the way they are. These aren't characters who aren't cognizant of their baggage or their holdbacks- it's more so them working through the mindsets holding them back. Cecily was relatable in a cheeky way here- she’d keenly aware of her dark desires (like ours as dark romance readers), she's just been hesitant to act on them. She doesn’t have the safe space to do so. And Jeremy knows he wants her, wants to be what she needs, but has holdbacks because…well, because of spoilery things. Perception is reality..or is it? For the most part, they are unapologetic about who they are. SO the growth really becomes less about self-discovery and more about self-recovery, about working through what's in their mind so they can really connect fully. I loved being in both of their heads.

Go in with an open mind, there are complications and unusual situations and complete and utter insanity. But these characters are magic together. Soul mates. The chemistry is mesmerizing- physically, emotionally, psychologically. HOly moly. Because in the deepest parts of them, their broken pieces match in a really unexpected way. More than any couple yet, it feels like two missing links. And Rina has so brilliantly connected the first and second generations in terms of who these characters are and the weight they carry. Weight they can’t truly unburden until they find the right person to help them carry it. These two liberate each other, steady each other. On their surface, their relationship is as toxic as they come- but underneath it their connection is really intimate and tender and sincere- edgy and dark, but sweet. Because they can be themselves with each other- their FULL selves. And the steamy times! YOWZERS.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t miss that two of my favorite heroes show up here in the best ways as daddies. I WAS NOT READY FOR DADDY ADRIAN, SOMEONE HOLD ME. These dads bring out their own psycho muscles in ways both hella entertaining and nostalgic. We have the perfect infusion of characters we already love- and the secondary cast shows up in great ways. You’ll love some characters more, dislike others more, and have your curiosity piqued more about others. All I can say is that the rest of this series is going to be a wild ride, and I’m here for every minute of it.

The NARRATION is pitch perfect- totally incredible! I love how Rina is pulling in all of OG narrators to keep the original characters voices. One of my favorite book listens ever.

Dark and Spicy Romance!!

God of Wrath by Rina Kent was a dark, spicy second-generation romance that I couldn't stop listening to and had me blushing from start to finish. Jeremy is very much like his father, and is dominant and ruthless, but also a passionate lover. His journey to HEA with Cecily is a bit unconventional, but their love story works for them, and in the end, won my heart.

Teddy Hamilton and Zara Hampton-Brown narrate this audiobook. This is the first time I've heard them paired together, and they both complimented each other so well. Teddy conveyed Jeremy's arrogant, vengeful, and protective persona perfectly. Plus, Zara's voice delicate melodic voice added just the right touch of curious innocence to Cecily's character. The chemistry between these two is absolutely blazing HOT! Shane East and Jason Clarke reprise their roles as Xander and Adrian.(Russian accent included)

Overall, I enjoyed this book. If you are a fan of a dark new adult romance with a loyal determined hero, a sweet passionate heroine, opening up new kinks, steamy chases through the woods, twisted secrets, fight clubs, mafia ties, family issues, and a HEA that shows that true love conquers all, then you will love Jeremy and Cecily's story. I always look forward to more from Rina Kent.

My favorite out of all the series

Jeremy is everything a dark romance mmc should be. I’m obsessed with his story line and character development. I loved how in tune he became with Cecily. I read these books but knew I had to get the audio of this specific one. Rina Kent is an amazing author. Can’t wait to read more of her!

Teddy Hamilton as any dark romance love interest is everything

I LOVED Jeremy and Cecily. I loved Jeremy almost as much as I loved Killian. This man would go from the craziest of crazy to the sweetest of sweet and I loved him so much. I was so proud of Cecily and the journey she went on too. I never want this series to end

Jeremy and Cecily

Dark romance
Stalking
Violence
Kinks

This story gives us another great couple.

Cecily was quite the surprise. Her had that good girl bad girl vibe. Sweet, loving, loyal blushes often put with kinks. Jeremy was her match.
Jeremy - obsessed, jealous, possessive stalker that literally killed anyone that hurt her. Rough but caring . Yet he does have a sensitive side that only is bought out by Cecily. We got to hear his hurt concerning his mother. Something he never shared.

Every story in this series gives us great couples and interesting stories. God ofWrath does not let us down. Dark yet emotional. The father son moment made my heart sing. In the case of Cecily’s trauma, Jeremy is the only one who sees her and understands her situation. Instantly protective, he brings her peace. They are perfect for each other.

Loved the couple, revisit of past characters and Loved the epilogues

Jeremy & Cecily

God of Wrath was a little bit more than I was expecting. It’s heavy on the kink, and light on the feels in the beginning. Jeremy is the monster with a soft side whilst Cecily is the sweet beauty with a wild side.

The two previous books should be read first as some parts if the story made me feel a little lost. God of Wrath was my first Rina Kent book but I’m now very intrigued and want to know more about this world the author created.

The cast was absolutely brilliant. I’m used to romantic, swoony Teddy Hamilton but Mafia Teddy Hamilton was really good. Zara Hampton-Brown wax also amazing. Having Shane East and Russian Jason Clarke was a great bonus.

This one I didn't get as excited for the couple as I did with Malice and Pain. I just didn't get enough connection between Jeremy and Cecily. Cecily got on my nerves a bit. I guess this was lacking majority of the plot for me and the ending was a bit rushed. I really enjoyed the audiobook though. I'll probably check out the next one though.

The narrators by: Teddy Hamilton, Zara Hampton-Brown, Jason Clarke, Shane East did a great job.

I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Honestly embarrassing if you ask me !

I think I wanted more than I got and not to say it was bad. It was good in the beginning but towards the middle end things started to get a little messy. Not to mention honestly don’t care for Cecily as a character. I like Jeremy he was the stalker psychotic me I wanted and got. But still so in love with her that he wants to give her everything. I loved the idea and the aesthetic of their love rather than the execution of them in their own book. Safe to say I will be reading book 4 and can’t wait to continue on with the series ❤️.

My favourite in the series so far!

This was my favourite in the series so far for sure. AND by far my favourite narrators as well! Their voices were perfectly cast for these characters and it was such an enjoyable experience to listen to. I was obsessed with Jeremy and Cecily the entire way through the book. I was excited to read their story from the glimpses we had gotten of the characters as individuals and how they interacted with in each other, in the previous books. Let me tell you, they did not disappoint!

As always Rina Kent just knows how to write a brutal, dark, possessive and obsessive hero... Jeremy was all those things. What I really loved about him, was how he started softening for Cecily bit by bit and started realising that he didn't always have to hold the burdens and responsibilities he has inside. He opened up to Cecily and there were so many amazing scenes. The bathing and cooking scenes were simply the best.

OF COURSE, this book wasn't all sunshine and rainbows but that's the best thing about dark romance. it's twisted and heart wrenching and it makes the HEA so much better!

So excited for the next books in the series.

My Favorite in the Series So Far!

So I read this book when it initially dropped in November, but couldn't resist listening to the audio as well once I saw the cast of narrators. Holy smokes, Jeremy & Cecily are definitely my favorite MCs of the series so far. The tension and push/pull between them was so good, and Cecily standing up to Jeremy’s nonsense was A++. And Jeremy, our perfect little mafia heir, finally we get a male MC who actually has violent tendencies and acts on them, versus our previous two male MCs who are all talk and no action.

If you enjoy Rina’s books, I strongly suggest listening to this book and series on audio as it fully brings the characters to life even more so than the words on the page.

2.5 🌟

Well that was a dark romance full of prima! kin* and knife play.

I have to confess that I have no idea why authors like to romanticise r@pe and for anyone who has been in this terrible situation, they wouldn't wish it on their worst enemy, but everyone to their own choice. It ain't mine and I won't be reading this author again.

I don't know if this author has ever been to Brighton but it didn't reflect any part that I am aware of. Research does matter. Also consistency - if a dress is ripped off, then you can't very well smooth it down again, or have I been doing something wrong these years?

I say this over and over again, I wish authors knew when to stop as this one droned on and on with repetitive to-ing and fro-ing and could have been cut by 200 pages, at least!

The MCs were weak and OK, I know it's about a Mafia heir but he was just a psychopath with a gentle side. Nothing more or less. She having been traumised by a similar situation, decides that the  prima! kin* is the way to go. Oh yeah, I can really seeing that playing out well.

I wasn't impressed by the audio either as I didn't like the female narrator - she sounded so whingey, where was Shane? Furthermore, for a Russian mobster book to only hear a Russian accent an hour from the end seems rather lazy! 🤔

I think you get my point. I didn't like it!

Dark Enemies To Lovers Romance

God of Wrath by Rina Kent is a dark enemies to lovers romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Teddy Hamilton, Zara Hampton-Brown, Jason Clarke, and Shane East. This is the third book in the Legacy of Gods series and can be read as a standalone.

Rina is an amazing writer! She always pulls me into the story and makes me fall in love with the characters. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Jeremy and Cecily. Their relationship is messy, but I couldn't help but root for them.

I can't wait for the next book in the series God of Ruin to be released on August 10, 2023, so I can get Landon's story.

Teddy, Zara, Jason, and Shane did an amazing job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like dark romances, enemies to lovers romances, college romances, or mafia romances.

THIS COUPLE IS FIRE AND I LOVED

📖 Audiobook 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I listened to AudioBooks twice because I love this book and not to miss any details.

About the narrators: Note 5.0
The voices fit perfectly with the characters and that's very important to me, especially teddy's voice is perfect as jeremy.
And as always I am very happy and excited when we have characters from other books, Jason and Shane's Perfect Narration.

Story
I like when the protagonists don't fall in love at first sight and I love to see their love being built, that's what happened with jeremy and celicy

I'm in love with Cecily, I already loved her mother but now I love her too she's a character the way I like it,
her heart is beautiful the way she takes care of her friends it was so beautiful to see how jeremy was realizing all her qualities

I loved that even though she stood up to Jeremy, she didn't put her head down for him.
I confess that I didn't like seeing her in the beginning in love with Landon, because I knew it wasn't her, and at the end of the book I understood that it was a mechanism for her to forget something.

Jeremy oh my god so hot , I feel a connection to him as I have watched him grow up since his parents book

Jeremy is his father's son, so he didn't give Cecily many choices, but it was his INSISTENCE that made her realize how much she needed him to invade her life and turn it upside down, they needed each other and me. I loved the transformations in their lives I loved the ending that cecily, didn't forgive jeremy so quickly and made him regret a lot and fight to deserve his love, I love when that happens
Jeremy's protectiveness towards Cecily is so beautiful to see that he takes care of her, and she takes care of him too.

I LOVED THE BOOK, I LOVED EVERYTHING.
THIS COUPLE IS FIRE AND I LOVED WATCHING EVERY SECOND.
