Micah: Constantine Ross is a cocky, provoking little...yeah. And I swear, I'd think that even if his family's business wasn't my biggest competition. I’m in love with my best friend. Lie. I’m in love with my enemy. Truth. But they’re the same. They. Are. The. Same. Lines in my world are blurry between fantasy and reality. Truth and lies. Love and hate. Copeland Justice is my enemy. My once best friend. The sadist in my heart plucking and pulling at every thread of who I am until I’m unraveled at his feet. His mouth says he hates me. His eyes burn with animosity for me. His heart beats for someone else. But Copeland Justice is the best liar of us all.

Story
Living with four other guys, it's bound to happen. Every guy's been caught taking care of business at least once, right? It shouldn't be a big deal. But I don't know Eric as well as my other roommates, and things are a little awkward now. He's a loner. A mystery. Quietly confident. Smart. Sexy as hell. I've been happily subsisting on the typical frat guy diet of booze and sorority girls. But the way Eric looked at me that night? There was something there. Something that's got me curious. Something that's stirring up feelings I thought I'd left behind for good.

When Talon left to play pro ball six years ago, the hole in my chest confused me. I focused my heartache into making my own NFL dreams come true, and by the time I was drafted, the longing I had for my best friend was buried deep. Now, he wants everything to be like it was in college, but we can't have threesomes and be reckless like we once were. The media storm would be enough to break both our careers. That's not my biggest concern, though. The torch I had for him burns brighter after so long apart, and there's nothing I can do about it. Marcus Talon is straight.

Few people would willingly spend the night in a murder house, but Victor Bayne is up for the challenge. He’ll do whatever it takes to get a look at his permanent record, including going undercover in a townhouse where a recent death took place. Why not? There was no foul play involved, and as a psychic medium, he’d know if a ghost was creeping up on him. The whole “murder house” claim is just a product of a kid’s overactive imagination, and he’s confident he has the situation under control.

Publisher's Summary
Jeff Paxton came home from Afghanistan looking to put down roots. Instead his pregnant sister talks him into a job babysitting the volatile megastar Nigel Gasp. Nigel is stubborn, needy, and determined to be the center of attention everywhere he goes. Before long, Jeff realizes that something is bothering Gasp, and that keeping him out of trouble might be more difficult than he thought.
Nigel never planned on getting old. He simply assumed a hard drinking, hard partying lifestyle would take care of that. Now that he's turning 40, he's depressed and a little bit desperate. To Nigel, 40 seems like a fine age to deposit his DNA and check out while he's still on top.
The last thing Jeff needs is to fall in love with Nigel Gasp. The last thing Nigel expects is a whole new reason to live. But how can Jeff put down roots with a man who is never in the same place twice?

I love Gomez Pugh's Narration!
Any additional comments?
Gomez Pugh has yet to let me down. Once again, his narration, accents and all, was so freaking entertaining I found myself massaging my cheekbones a couple of times from smiling so hard for so long.
That being said, this is a slow-and-steady love story between two men who are both a bit broken in their own ways. The story isn’t flashy and ran a bit long in places. However, it was very entertaining with lots of humor, some quite hot sexy times, and (sort of) how I picture a real relationship between a rock star god and normal guy might actually be.
Nigel is a real enfant terrible. I so pictured Russell Brand the entire time I was listening to this…but the sad kind of Russell who just wants someone to love…
I love that Nigel and Jeff’s relationship isn’t instantaneous. Even though they are attracted to one another, the relationship takes work, with them slowly opening up to one another. I also love that they call each other on their shit. And did I mention the humor? Because this has some seriously funny moments. Sure there were a few things that drove me nuts, but nothing too terrible.
So bottom line? This is not a flashy or fast moving story, but it’s filled with humor, heat and romance, and the narration is terrific.
RECOMMENDED!

Just OK story; great narration
Yeah, sorry but this book didn't do it for me. The best thing about this book was the AMAZING Gomez Pugh. Man, this book wasn't narrated, it was performed; complete with a very believable British accent for Nigel. The story started off well enough with an ex-Army alpha man babysitting a spoiled rock star. But halfway through, I kept waiting for Nigel to change and have some redeeming value. In my book, it never happened. I just didn't buy what little effort he put towards the relationship and actually got a little angry at Jeff for putting up with his crap. Continually excusing his behavior because of his fame, is crap, IMHO. Then the book ended very abruptly. I guess it could be called a HFN ending, but unless the story continues in a future book, I give their relationship six months.

GASP, Sigh......
I remember when this book was published. I hedged on buying it because I knew by the premise that it would annoy me. When I saw that Gomez Pugh was narrating it, I decided to take a chance. I'm kinda glad I did, but boy, I could have strangled Nigel and Dierdre most of the time. I felt very sorry for Jeff and wished that he would have stopped apologizing for Nigel's childish behavior when he was the younger of the two and much more mature. I know that his sister was a new mother, but her emotions were too all over the place and she basically threw her brother to the wolves and made him responsible for a loose cannon. I'm glad her wife was more compassionate. The positive aspect was that Gomez was perfect as usual. He does such a great job with characters and I'll listen to anything that he narrates.

Amazing narration. Quirky story
What made the experience of listening to Gasp! the most enjoyable?
Oh, most deffinitely Gomez Pugh doing a British accent that sounded like Nigel Tuffnel from Spinal Tap. It was laugh out loud brilliant.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked the troubled musician angle. Yes, it's been done a billion times before but Nigel Gasp has a few... kinks that are a little out of the ordinary and it was kinda wonderful.
What about Gomez Pugh’s performance did you like?
EVERYTHING. Gomez Pugh is a master for getting to the heart of a character and not only putting emotion into his narration, but comic timing and humour. He is one of my favourite narrators in any genre.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes, at the end in the hospital.
Any additional comments?
Entertaining story made even better by the top class narration.

A rock god's romance
The e-book was great but it was Gomez Pugh who elevated this audio book to great.
As the title states it's a love story. Even rock stars like Nigel need 'the one'
The book has some funny crazy moments mixed in with the poignant.
A gentle romance with no over the top angst. Just two people like many of us who find it hard to trust that they might be worth loving.

Excellent Narration!
What did you like most about Gasp!?
Without a doubt it was the excellent narration
Who was your favorite character and why?
Jeff, who was slightly flawed but was a good guy
Have you listened to any of Gomez Pugh’s other performances? How does this one compare?
This was my first time listening to Gomez Pugh
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were a couple, particularly near the end, so I won't say which they were so as not to spoil it for anyone who hasn't listened to Gasp.
Any additional comments?
An enjoyable enough story, but doubt I would have enjoyed it as much if it wasn't for the excellent narration. Gomez Pugh really surprised me, especially with the variety of accents, especially the English one - which really surprised me as being English I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. I would definitely recommend this book, if only for Gomez Pugh's narration
