Publisher's Summary

INCLUDES A CONVERSATION WITH STEPHEN KING AND BEV VINCENT!

Stephen King hates to fly. Now he and coeditor Bev Vincent would like to share this fear of flying with you. Welcome to Flight or Fright, an anthology about all the things that can go horribly wrong when you're suspended six miles in the air, hurtling through space at more than 500 mph and sealed up in a metal tube (like - gulp! - a coffin) with hundreds of strangers. All the ways your trip into the friendly skies can turn into a nightmare, including some we'll bet you've never thought of before...but now you will the next time you walk down the jetway and place your fate in the hands of a total stranger.

Featuring brand-new stories by Joe Hill and Stephen King as well as 14 classic tales and one poem from the likes of Richard Matheson, Ray Bradbury, Roald Dahl, and Dan Simmons, Flight or Fright is, as King says, "ideal airplane reading, especially on stormy descents... Even if you are safe on the ground, you might want to buckle up nice and tight". Book a flight with this terrifying new anthology that will have you thinking twice about how you want to reach your final destination.

Unfortunately, Just So So

Some stories are very good, one I skipped past because it just droned on an don, none were particularly scary. Happy to have the book, but I won't re-listen to it, I'm sure.

Not very scary

The majority of the stories weren’t scary although a few made up for it. If you’re looking to be scared this isn’t the book.

Every single story a gem!

And the collection really did creep me out, but without causing me to fear getting on a plane. The situations are clever, horrid, remarkable and sometimes sad, but generally outside what I think would kill me up there.

The story that got to me the most was Joe Hill's, but that's no surprise. Then there was James Dickey's poem, which, for me, will be unforgettable.

If you love great, scary writing, get this anthology and enjoy!

Not very good at all

Most of the time I can trust King to provide entertaining stories, whether he writes them or not. This collection is not in the least interesting, or entertaining. I struggled all the way though it. l

Only Joe shines

Just so so. The only story that lifted me up and at the same time had that deep underlying The-Sky-is-falling feeling was the one from Joe Hill. Not precisely dad's level, yet, but it would make a wonderful first chapter for a his own post-apocalyptic novel.

A Great Anthology

An excellent compilation of stories about the horrors in the sky. A brilliant concept, with equally exceptional execution.

keeper

I have taken advantage of the return policy many times but I won't be returning this one. Joe Hill's story alone is worth a credit. Great collaboration and collection

Great collections of stories

The Joe Hill short story should be made into a novel. Very entertaining and a fun listen.
