Publisher's summary

The year is 2027. A new OPEC is created. It’s now called Organization of Energy Exporting Countries (OPEEC) and it’s headquartered in Moscow, Russia. Based on a report that is over 25 years old, they have intentionally overestimated their oil supplies for years and continue to perpetrate this coverup.

While a young imagery analyst at the National Geo-Spatial Agency (NGA) is analyzing imagery of the oil fields in eastern Siberia, this coverup is accidently uncovered, which results in the US government opening a clandestine investigation into the matter. Only Russia and China knew of the shortfall, and they are taking their partners on a path to war with the United States along with the rest of the world. Russia, with the assistance of China, rope India into the conflict and pressure them into taking naval and ground combat operations to control critical choke points for the free flow of oil on the oceans of the world. China launches cyber-attacks against the United States that impact the “Green Technology” the US has been buying from China for years, but little do they know the US has something, or someone, up their sleeve.

To them it’s all about who controls the flow, reliance, and access to energy, but it’s not about oil anymore. The United States is confronted with bad decisions which were made in the past that continue to haunt them. Russia has had the United States and its allies fooled for quite some time but now it’s time to strike back!

Well thought out game of international intrigue

Flames of Deception by Author Travis Davis spins a tale of real world international intrigue. The narrator doesn’t do the story justice, as his attempts at varying the voices and accents fall flat. The story however is a true to life modern spy thriller. I’m impressed, and when the future Davis Books hit the shelves, they’ll find their way into my collection.
