Publisher's summary

Don't think, just believe? That's the mantra in many circles today - whether the church, the classroom, the campus, or the voting booth. Nancy Pearcey, best-selling and critically acclaimed author, offers fresh tools to break free from presumed certainties and test them against reality.

In Finding Truth, she explains five powerful principles that penetrate to the core of any worldview - secular or religious - to uncover its deepest motivations and weigh its claims. A former agnostic, Pearcey demonstrates that a robust Christian worldview matches reality - that it is not only true but attractive, granting higher dignity to the human person than any alternative.

Finding Truth displays Pearcey's well-earned reputation for clear and cogent writing. She brings themes to life with personal stories and real-world examples.

Great book. Full of thoughtful analysis & insight!

An insightful, clear thinking and practical guide to the field of worldview from Nancy Pearcey, author of Total Truth and Saving Leonardo. This book continues the trend set by her previous books by far surpassing my expectations. Pearcey is a gifted writer and thinker and this book is a powerful aid to those struggling to navigate the questions arising around truth in the context of numerous conflicting fundamental worldviews.

The narrator does a fine job in delivery yet there are a couple critical mistakes in pronunciation, particularly in at least two spots when (a variation on) the word "deify" is read as "defy". This changes the meaning those phrases and as a listener is confusing unless you catch the substitution.

However, those minor issues do not outweigh the valuable insight and clarity of thought in the rest of the book.

I highly recommend this book! It is well worth the read!

A Pale Second to Total Truth

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. It doesn't really answer the questions it poses that are not unanswerable by the other side. It doesn't offer anything we haven't heard before. This conversation seems to go in circles.

Would you ever listen to anything by Nancy Pearcey again?

Yes. I really liked Total Truth.

Did Pamela Klein do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

N/A

Was Finding Truth worth the listening time?

Unsure

Excellent tool for building a philosophy of life

Great food for thought. Explains why real Christianity is not reductionistic, antiscience, or anti-intellectual. Just the opposite.

A must!

This is a great book from Nany Pearcy. It callenges the arrogance of the status quo and the inconsistent philosophical presuppositions and positions made popular in our schools and media, revealing them as false gods.

Putting world views into perspective.

Thank you Nancy for helping me to not be afraid of engaging non Christian world views. Your explanations are easily followed, not too academic. It was an enjoyable listen, and I will probably listen to it a few times more.

Excellent approach to apologetics.

Resonated with me as the author based her argument on the kind of source material I read many years back.

She leans heavily on Francis Schaeffer and CS Lewis, two if my favourite apologists of the twentieth century.

Also, the propositions were well-argued and opposition views thoroughly dismantled.
