Publisher's summary

Nothing could keep Christopher and Rebecca apart: not her abusive parents, or even the fiancé she brought home after running away to England. But when World War II finally strikes the island of Jersey, the Nazi invaders ship Rebecca to Europe as part of Hitler’s Final Solution against the Jewish population.

After Christopher and his family are deported back to their native Germany, he volunteers for the Nazi SS, desperate to save the woman he loves. He is posted to Auschwitz and finds himself put in control of the money stolen from the victims of the gas chambers. As Christopher searches for Rebecca, he struggles to not only maintain his cover, but also the grip on his soul. Managing the river of tainted money flowing through the horrific world of Auschwitz may give him unexpected opportunities. But will it give him the strength to accept a brave new fate that could change his life - and others’ lives - forever?

A gripping and very moving story!

I loved this book! I couldn't put it down! It really gives such in-depth perspectives of the Holocaust.

A great book!

At first I was skeptical, but this turned out to be a wonderful book. Many parts were difficult and heartbreaking, but they were a necessary part of the story. I am an omnivore as far as books are concerned, but rarely lean toward "great love stories." This one was well worth the download!

A well woven WW2 story.

This is a Holocaust story and a love story. I was surprised by the things that I learned such as the fact that the Nazi's were on an English island off the coast of mainland England. If you like WW2 stories told with courage, bravery, love, suspense and family struggles, this one's for you.

Wonderful

Wow. This book was beautifully written and performed. Devastating and moving, descriptive without being over the top. The characters were developed so well; you can really feel and understand their emotions. I never give 5 star reviews because it's hard to find books with really great stories beginning to end, but this one is more than deserving.

Was a 4 until the ending. Dont want to give anything away so will leave it at that. Im sure many will enjoy the ending, I just did not.

Very moving

I found my self stealing moments anyway I could to listen to this book. It's starts with a sweet and moving love between to young people, takes you deep into the darkest places of the Nazi's, and ends with hope.
