Story
I'm not so different from most people. Like everyone else, I have life goals. Goal #1: Become a real girl instead of this invisible ghost thing I currently am. Goal #2: Convince the four men I've been haunting for the past five years to pick me to be their new toy after goal one is complete. Goal #3: Figure out who/what I am and why I can't remember anything past the five years I've been haunting this quad. Goal #4: Eat popcorn. See? Perfectly normal. Sort of. Gotta start small, after all. It's not like anyone else is perfect either.

Publisher's Summary
Kyra knows she's screwed. Trapped in a school while zombies stumble past just waiting for the survivors cowering inside to come out to play, she has no hope of getting out alive. She's not the only one either, and sexy fellow survivor Riley seems hellbent on making their last few hours alive memorable ones.
But in a twist of fate neither one could have seen coming, Kyra and Riley realize that they might not be facing the end after all. Even more, they're hit with the realization that what had started as a distraction might just turn out to be the best thing to ever happen to them. Assuming they can find somewhere safe.

Great Read
Fighting for a Future: A Zombie Apocalypse Love Story, Book Two was another good read by Kate L. Mary. Kyra is trapped in a school while the zombies are going past. She knows that she has no hope of getting out alive. She isn’t the only survivor there, the sexy Riley is there as well. After some time, they figure out that the end may not be near like they thought. I really enjoyed reading Kyra and Riley’s story and cant wait to read more by Kate L. Mary.

Strength and motivation!
Kate does it again! This time with a series of shorter novellas about the zombie apocalypse with a bit of steamy romance included. As always, a strong female lead. Kyra is tough and outspoken, yet honest and self-confident; you just have to look beyond the vulgarity. Riley is compassionate, a charmer with the same self-confidence. The two hit it off and give each other the strength and motivation to survive. A great story! I’m looking forward to the rest of the series. Quick steamy zombie adventure!
Narrator did a nice job; she fit the lead character well. Decent quality recording. Overall, a good listen.
This is a quick story about some survivors at pretty much the beginning of the zombie apocalypse. It’s a little snap shot into these people’s lives while they are dealing with the danger from the zombies and what they need to do to survive. This one starts out being set in a high school, which was a fun setting. The group could’ve done a lot better job of finding weapons and supplies though. 21 year old Kyra is the lead for this story; she is tough to like most times, but she’s not a damsel. She’s rude, vulgar, likes one night stands and getting drunk, and thinks because she’s honest it’s okay to be a brat. It’s good to be honest and confident, but you don’t have to do that in a jerky way. I still had some moments of liking her though; she’s not all around horrible. She’s just young and needs more life experience. Riley is her romantic connection; he’s the type of guy that can charm anyone. He’s mostly a nice guy, and seems to appreciate Kyra’s attitude. They have some steamy times that start out as scratching an itch, but becomes more as they help each other survive. I enjoyed their romance and felt they worked well as a couple. There’s some fun zombie action going on, so that’s always great. Plus, it’s fun to see Kyra and company figuring out what they need to do to survive and how they deal with other survivors. An entertaining read.

Really good
I’ve listened to several books by Kate L. Mary. I’ve loved them all as well as found the narrators really good. On that note, while I liked this story a lot, I had an issue with the narrator. Now I’ve listened to book 4 of this series so I’m not sure if the narrator was still in the learning-as-she-goes phrase?! Book 4, she did really good. Book 2, not so much. She spoke really fast like she was rushed to get the story narrated because of time restraints or I don’t know what. My usual listen speed is 1.0; I turned it back to .75 and that just made her seem like she was talking really slowly. Obviously, I had hoped her voice would have been at a normal speed. Another issue was the fact she didn’t change her voice for the characters. They all sounded the same. My last issue is the way she speaks in general (at least with book 2). There were a lot of words that she dragged out like “heeyyyy.” I don’t know if that’s her usual way of speaking (can’t remember from book 4) but it was kind of annoying. So, again, I’m thinking she hadn’t been narrating for very long and was growing and learning as a narrator, hence she did better in book 4.
I only had one question this time around. There’s a part near the end when they’re talking about the island. Kyra says that she can’t wait to sunbathe. After going through the farmhouse, Riley brings up the fact there aren’t any swimsuits. Kyra’s response? She’ll just skinny dip then. Sunbathing and skinny dipping are two different things. I’ll just leave it at that.

Zombie/Love Short Story
A love story set during a zombie apocalypse. Good short story. Likeable characters with a believable plot. I liked the narrator's voice and speed, BUT, the recording sounds awful in multiple spots. Sounds like she is talking into a can. Horrible echo. Hope this gets fixed for future listeners.

Zombies and danger lurk around every corner and the last thing that Kyla expects is to fall in love. With Riley in tow, they'll face the apocalypse together and just might get their happily ever after.
Sexy romance and suspenseful moments made this a fun listen. The narration was well done and enhanced my listening experience. I enjoyed this and would recommend it.

Steamy Romance during the Zombie Apocalypse!
I received this book via a promo code and this is my voluntary review.
Kyra knows shes screwed. Trapped in a school, surrounded by a bunch of flesh eating zombies, the end is nigh. Or so Riley thinks so he convinces Kyra to spend what could be her last few hours fooling around in one of the empty classrooms with him. Kyra is a bit of a rebel, which I loved. The atmosphere is fantastic with the narration, you feel like you're sneaking around a haunted house trying not to attract unwanted attention from some axe murderer.
Riley was more of a rich playboy and they had a great balance. She's a horror writer, so suddenly all that creative thinking power is a great advantage to help keep her and the other survivors alive... like the knocking idea. Not everyone makes it, but by the end what started out as a simple distraction from the end, gives our post-apocalyptic couple a desire to fight for the future, however uncertain it might be.

Story
They came four years ago. Invaded our planet, rounded us up, and decimated the human race. We fought back, and some even say we won, but they're wrong. The invaders took everything from us. Our family. Our hope. Our humanity. We won the war, but there are no humans left. Only monsters who will do anything to survive. Some look human and some don't, but they are all the same. Eighteen-year-old Eva has spent the last year punishing herself for her sister's death and hiding from everyone.

Cassie Forrest isn't surprised to learn that the day she’s decided to get her life together is also the day the world ends. After all, she’s been on a self-imposed losing streak since her survivalist parents died: she’s stopped painting, broken off her engagement to Adrian and dated a real jerk. Rectifying her mistakes has to wait, however, because Cassie and her friends have just enough time to escape Brooklyn for her parents’ cabin before Bornavirus LX turns them into zombies, too.

Story
We were best friends, inseparable since childhood despite our differences. I knew the real man hiding behind the tattoos and bad attitude. He knew all my secrets and dreams. But he didn't know there was one thing I wanted and couldn't have - him. But sometimes Fate has a way of intervening. Soon our world collapsed. War erupted. Darkness prevailed. Alone and on the run, our only goal was to survive and to ignore the feelings we had for each other. But love is powerful - and so is the darkness.

Story
When people started getting sick, they thought it was just the flu. My roommate, my boyfriend, my family ...they're all gone now. I got sick too. I should have died with them-with the rest of the world-but I didn't. I thought witnessing the human population almost disappear off the face of the earth was the craziest thing I'd ever experience. I was so wrong. My name is Dani O'Connor, I'm twenty-six-years-old, and I survived the ending.
