    "is it over yet?"

Don't feel bad about skipping over this book. It is painfully slow and every single little detail is described. They are always praying about something. I could even fast forward 30 seconds and they would still be praying about one thing or another. The author pushes his Baptist beliefs throughout the character interactions to a point of taking away from the story. It is so obvious you can see it coming.

The narrating is so inconsistent it is hard to keep listening or keep up. The narrators will start with what they think is a Southern accent and move to a New York accent and then try to have a black accent but the black accent will turn back to a New York accent midway through the book. It's amazing this audio was released with this narration.

I am so glad this book is over and won't be reading any sequels.

    "Another Great EMP Book!"

This, the second book in the series is an amazing continuation of great first book. As with the first I honk he character development goes a long way to making the story believable. The bad decisions and decline of food people scattered throughout be series give these books a realistic feel. Can't wait for Book #3!

    "More Story. Less filler."

I like the story line in general, however the author is more dedicated to making sure every character prays repeatedly than keeping the story flowing.
The first book was much better, this one has veered heavily off into to weeds.
I understand the authors mindset and as a Christian myself I am sure I would be bathing any apocalyptic situation in prayer, however the author is making the reader wade through the molasses thick pasture of repetitive prayer and mental gymnastics of each character without moving us forward in the plot line.
I love the accuracy of the story, but the detail could be shortened to get this story line out of low gear.

    "Christianity??"

Sad commentary of UN-biblical Christianity. Misses the mark entirely.
Selfish dead religion does not produce the fruit of Jesus life.

"A great listen and another very good EMP series!"
Would you listen to The Search again? Why?

I read Book One in the series, Once Upon An Apocalypse, Journey Home, and it was outstanding! Made me want to get to book two right away!

What did you like best about this story?

The author, Jeff Motes, keeps it real and the characters are likeable, so you want them to make it! I like how Jeff knows his weapons, survival skills and tactics. As a retired Military NCO and Deputy Sheriff, that makes it much more enjoyable when it is correct in describing the tools of the trade.

What about Holly Henrichs and Michael Stadler ’s performance did you like?

Loved how the author actually has a WOMAN doing a woman's voice, not some guy trying to sound like a girl! WOW, how authentic is that!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Made me think I better keep honing up my own shooting and survival skills. I don't cry unless one of my dogs die.............

    Any additional comments?

I cannot wait for Jeff to come out with future follow-up books and keep the series going!
