Smoke is the man !!!!

Where does The Last Mountain Man rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top Notch !!! Love Johnstones Smoke Jenson I could own all of them in hard copy in a heart beat if they were available.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Last Mountain Man?

The heart felt love Smoke has for Sally and the urgency in which he responds when she's hurt.

Have you listened to any of Jack Garrett’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

He's one hell of a narrator wish he was on all my books.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Both

Any additional comments?

Need another thousand to read ! Best get to writing lol

First rate offering

Would you listen to The Last Mountain Man again? Why?

I try not to re listen to audio books, but, I could sit through this performance again if it was necessary.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I believe it had to be Matt. I enjoy movies and stories that follow a character through their development. Of course, they do make the heroes a bit super human in their abilities, but , I guess that is what escapism is all about.

What about Jack Garrett’s performance did you like?

Outstanding

If you could rename The Last Mountain Man, what would you call it?

The Boy

Any additional comments?

Would like to see more books set in the 1700's

Good Listen

Great narration. like the way past books have been incorporated into story with enough new material to hold interest.

simply could not finish this horrible book

What was most disappointing about William Johnstone’s story?

I thought I'd try this book because some reviewers compared the author to Louis L'amour, and one of my guilty pleasures is to sit down with one of those old good guy, bad guy western novels and get away from reality. But no L'amour book that I ever read was ever even close to being this bad. I understand that this is just a "western" novel, but you like to see a little attention to detail, minimizing historical inaccuracies and containing a minimum of just plain silliness and implausibility. But you won’t get that here. The characters, the situations, are annoying and just plain just horrible. One of the few books I have had that I simply could not finish.

How could the performance have been better?

I had no problem with the performance just the content of the book.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

annoyance
