Publisher's Summary

The first story in a fiery new series about the west's most dangerous boomtown, and the reformed outlaw who risks his life to keep it safe....

In the dark shadow of the Prophecy Mountains lies the ramshackle town of Rattlesnake Wells, where dreamers come to make their fortunes, and desperados come to die. The streets of this little settlement are slick with mud and stained with blood, and it will fall to Bob Hatfield to sweep them clean. The town marshal, Hatfield, has a young man's face, but his eyes are those of a killer. He is a good man, but he has a secret that weighs on his soul.

In Texas, Hatfield was known as the Devil's River Kid, one of the most feared outlaws to ever ride the Lone Star State. He fled Texas after a showdown with a corrupt rancher turned bloody, and he vowed to start a new life on the right side of the law. But when some ghosts from Hatfield's past catch up to him, this gunslinging marshal will risk his life to protect the savage town known as Rattlesnake Wells.

Couldnt stand to listen to the reader long enough to find out what the story was like. There are narrated books and just bla readers. This guy was putting us to sleep.

haven't finished yet but..

I love the author. I like the voice of the narrator it is just the tone is so low that I am having trouble hearing it. my headphones are maxed most of the time and I miss things from time to time. I listen to about 5 to 7 books a week. this is the first time I have had this problem with audible I have had tone problems with cheaper audio book sevices.

Narrator

The narrators voice is awful. To low, to flat, to hard to understand. Good story.

Boring

I usually like William Johnstones stories? This one was very boring and the reader was terrible. I had to stop listening less than halfway thru the story. I plan on a refund.

Needs a better narrator

The book is great but this narrator has such a low voice, he is hard to understand at times.

Good Listen.

I was pretty much drawn in, the only thing I was underwhelmed about was when he would change his voice for Consuelo. All other voices were fine.

Utter rubbish.

Only a half decent narration gets close to rescuing this drivel.DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
