Publisher's Summary

Kate, Aubrey, and Jenny first met as college roommates and soon became inseparable, despite being as different as three women can be. Kate was beautiful, wild, wealthy, and damaged. Aubrey, on financial aid, came from a broken home and wanted more than anything to distance herself from her past. And Jenny was a striver - brilliant, ambitious, and determined to succeed. As an unlikely friendship formed, the three of them swore they would always be there for each other. But 20 years later, one of them is standing at the edge of a bridge, and someone is urging her to jump. How did it come to this?

Kate married the gorgeous party boy, Aubrey married up, and Jenny married the boy next door. But how can these three women love and hate each other? Can feelings this strong lead to murder? When one of them dies under mysterious circumstances, will everyone assume, as is often the case, that it's always the husband?

A suspenseful, absorbing audiobook that examines the complexities of friendship, It's Always the Husband will keep listeners guessing right up to its shocking conclusion.

Great listen

This one kept me guessing until the end! Loved the different perspectives and thought January LaVoy did an excellent job.

Constant Guessing Game!

This was a great story made better if you will by the narrator January LaVoy. This novel is one of the best, I've read/listened to in a long time.

The characters and story all very well written. And anyone who've spent time on a college campus, or reminiscing about their college days can relate to college life and all that goes along with it for some crowds.

But, this story of troubled relationships and people who seem to be destined to be together; is brilliant.

Kate, Jenny, and Aubrey are an unlikely trio. They find themselves navigating college life and more.
As you will find there is a bit of a mystery and you'll go on this journey with the "Triple Whips" to solve it.

A constant guessing game and a complete mystery until the last few seconds.

Horrible

I’ve never listened to a book before where I hated every single character. Really depressing

Couldn't make myself care

All of the characters were one-dimensional and incredibly unlikeable. I couldn't make myself care what happened to any of them. Predictable ending.

Couldn't finish

I made it less than halfway through this book. The three main characters are such awful/weak/hateful women that I was hoping that all three would do me a favor and jump off the bridge. Since it didn't appear that this was likely, I gave up. Three hours I will never get back.

THRILLER

Loved this story. I like the writers past and present storyline. How their lives intertwine from college to current in segments. It is definitely a thriller and up til the end when ot is revealed you are uncertain of the true killer. I also enjoyed the readers performance .....made it more interesting!

LOVE the Narrator

The book was great, but enhanced by the narrator. Her voice quality suited all the characters that she read. Very believable.

Terrible!

I purchased this book because the description sounded like an interesting psychological story. The characters were unlikeable and the plot was all over the place.

One of the best books I’ve listened to

This book was impossible to stop listening to from the very beginning. Narrator is amazing and the story really does keep you guessing. Right when you think you’ve figured it out, you realize you had no idea!
