Great read

Loved the book. It got on my nerves in a good way. 😊😊😊 .. .

Eh

Too much emphasis on calorie counting and weight issues (really need that for women and their worth?). Story was not interesting or clever.

Great story - local references

I liked this book from the minute I started listening to it. I loved it once I got into it and all of the New Hampshire references. Definitely worth a credit!

Great Story Line

Slow start but glad I stuck with it...ended up being an incredible story. will definitely read more from this author.

Not My Favorite..

After reading the synopsis for this book, I knew that this was going to be a book I would enjoy. As this book was my first read from D.J. Palmer, I was a little nervous. But I am so glad I gave it a shot. I find it really hard to write this review without revealing anything so I will just say this. This book kept me guessing, overall I found the story was interesting, the characters were unique, I loved being in their different perspectives and everything about this story kept me hooked and wanting to read more. Although I did really like this book, it felt like things were moving SO slow in the beginning, even though they sped up about halfway through the book. I can totally see why this book has such mixed reviews. After reading this book and looking over some of the other reviews people had for it I can tell you that this book probability isn't for everyone.

On the scale of yay to nay, regarding its nature of being a thriller, I would give it a nay. Everything in this book seemed to just be by the numbers. It didn't blow my mind like most other thrillers do. Overall I really did like this book, it just didn't hit the thriller bar for me.

Disconcerting

This book does keep you on the edge of your seat. I disliked the main character, she drove me crazy so I guess the author did a good job.
I had to stop listening on and off because the story was making me feel anxious. When it finally came to wrapping it up I was pleased.

Meh…

Plot was completely implausible and ending was very rushed. It was like the author just got to a point and wanted to hurry and finish it. Main performer was good, but the second one was not pleasant to listen to. Overall, I’d say, borrow from the library but don’t waste a credit.

Loved it

I loved the twisty storyline and characters. Narrators were really entertaining and gave an enjoyable performance.

Don’t listen to the pretentious grumps

This book was amazing. There was nothing wrong with the narration. Everyone knows January LaVoy and she’s no less incredible here than with any other audiobook. Rebecca was also incredible. The story was anything but boring. If you find this story boring then I wonder type of spit fire circus ring you live in. 🤔
It was full of mystery and angst and I just wanted to choke Simon with my bare hands.
Give this a try. You will not regret it. This coming from someone that doesn’t complete full audiobooks if it doesn’t capture my attention in the first chapter.

Lightweight but still a good listen

Good narration, believable story but the writing is lightweight and repetitive. Editing it down by a quarter or so would have really helped this book. Characters are well defined but the main character(the mother) is written as an unbelievably naive and dumb person.
Enjoyable listen but the drawn out conversations and explanations became irritating.
