Publisher's Summary

Emily Covington has turned her life around after a drug addiction, but her family still has trouble trusting her. Though Emily has committed herself to a year-long treatment program and has been sober for almost a year beyond that, even her mother walks on eggshells around her, fearing she’ll relapse. After her behavior during her drug years, Emily realizes she has a lot to prove.

When police discover a homemade bomb under Emily’s car, and she then learns the wife of one of her friends was murdered that same morning, she knows things are deadly serious.

But who wants Emily dead? And why?

A conversation she had with two men, an Alfred Hitchcock movie, and a plan for a double murder all conspire for one explosive ride... and Emily is the only one who can identify the killer and save the life of the next potential victim.

As she frantically works to solve this ever more complicated puzzle, Emily finds herself playing right into the killer’s hands.

Great series

Nicely done. One book from the series easily rolls to the next but you could easily pick up in the middle too.
I love the biblical reference mixed in with a riveting story. Well done.

Very moving!

Good read or audio; gives insight, wisdom and guidance for a very widespread issue of our day. Good for teens to listen to for warning of the dangers concerning this issue.

Another Blackstock winner!

The last in the Intevention series, this book is great. I did get a bit tired of Emily trying to do things her own way, especially after all the mistakes she has made. But, it's still a thriller. The ending was absolutely perfect! I highly recommend this series!

Terri's Up All Night Stories

Would you consider the audio edition of Downfall to be better than the print version?

I am eclectic when it comes to reading, using printed books, MP3 audios and e-readers. I love all of Terri Blackstock's books, so I enjoy them in all mediums. I did not read this book in print, so can't compare it. What I can say is, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it and the characters were real to me. That must mean Cassandra Campbell did a great job narrating!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Downfall?

The most memorable moment was when Emily remembered someone who had overheard their conversations and had a grudge against her, as well as others.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Kent proposed to Barbara.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

What do you do when everyone thinks you have fallen back into your old ways and even you can't explain what is happening?

Any additional comments?

The mother's attitude was very frustrating to me. Her fears seemed over the top and she wouldn't listen to Emily's denials. If I had been Emily, I would have been heartbroken that my own mother could turn on me so quickly. She never gave her the benefit of the doubt.

Another Great Series!

I've been a big Terri Blackstock fan for years and since audio books got really popular, I became an even bigger Cassandra Campbell fan. She's a very talented narrator.

This is the third book in a series about drug addiction. We find out that, like most of us, Terri Blackstock understands the struggles and horrible challenges of a family who has dealt with addiction, as she does mention in this book. You can tell that she is sincere about addiction problems with the challenges it brings to a family.

This was my favorite of the three book series. I won't spoil the ending, but it was really well done, and even though the end was a tad predictable, that was fine... it's an ending you would hope for!

Cassandra Campbell's character voices were consistent throughout the series. I started listening at book one titled "Intervention." Barbara Covington and her two children Emily and Lance always sounded consistent. By book two, "Vicious Cycle," I could tell by the voices who was talking. I could even tell when Barbara's love interest, Kent, was speaking, He had a natural, southern accent that never strayed from his character throughout the series.

Terri always remembers to give God the glory, to pray without ceasing and gives us Biblical references that remind us to trust in the Lord when everything seems like it is falling apart.

Third in a series.

Would you listen to Downfall again? Why?

A good ending to this series but a little slow in getting the listeners attention.<br/>No, I wouldn't listen to this series again but I did enjoy it.
