Publisher's Summary

In national best-selling author Beverly Jenkins' Destiny series, the Yates men play hard and live hard. And when they find that special woman, they fall hard.

Noah Yates fully believes in the joys of a happy family and a good wife. But that's not the life for him. No, he would much rather sail the wild seas in search of adventure, not tied down. But then the unthinkable happens - he finds himself literally tied down. To a bed. By a woman.

And Pilar isn't just an ordinary woman. She's descended from pirates. And after giving him one of the worst nights of his life, she steals his ship! Now Noah is on the hunt, and he'll stop at nothing to find this extraordinary woman - and make her his.

Great story, generic lead female,

Let me start off by saying I am a fan of several of Beverly Jenkins books. I LOVE forbidden as well as destiny surrender. With that being said. The lead female in the story goes from extraordinary to another generic strong-willed bold personality female. What happened to the revolution? what happened to her wanting to make a difference be a change? what happened to Cuba? what I am appalled, angry, and disgusted with the family over is the ending of the book, and the treatment of Noah Yates as a victim of rape. I do not think the writer understand severity of broken trust between spouses when the wife shared such an intimate violation of her husband with his family. I do not feel that the husband should have been the only one apologizing when does treatment and misunderstanding. He was not a alpha male nor that he appear to represent the domineering personality of an alpha male. She had more compassion for the perpetrator that placed her husband in this scenario vs her husband. that killed and murdered my book reading experience. I can go on and on about this however that may be a personal blog post. Otherwise a great book.

Weak story

This had all the elements of a great adventure but it fell flat. When Miss Jenkins is good she's great but sometimes these stories seem forced and rushed. This one was just OK. I think I will go back and read and Indigo again!

The boy rake and the girl pirate

Had trouble with the narration a bit as I'm just not used to male narrators for this series but the story is so compelling and Thomas Penny's voice is so entrancing, I couldn't stop listening.

This is one of my favorite Jenkins series and while her words easily come off the page in swirls of vivid imagery that shouldn't require any narration to come to life, the ability to really immerse yourself in the world through the audiobook is the perfect way to enjoy this series.

Didn't want it to end

I wished there were more in this series. I loved all of the characters and the descriptions of the places and people made me feel as though I could see them right before my eyes.

Destiny Series

All three audios were excellent. The narrator was magnificent. The history in all three was excellent. All I can say is more more and thank you .

Destiny's Captive

Excellent well written story. Love how all the characters came together to round out the story. Ms Jenkins did not disappoint on this one. The history was nicely woven into the story as always and that made it even better.

Kinda saw it coming, but still good!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

As a historical romance this book is very good. They way they talk and are treated is accurate im sure of the time.

Have you listened to any of Thomas Penny’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first book by Thomas Penny. Very nice performance by him. Voices done nicely and with emotion, so I'm sure it wont b my last.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Was a very good book. Had funny parts and sad parts. Noahs past is quite sad.
