Publisher's summary

Have you ever wanted to climb into a time machine and visit Hollywood during its heyday?

When you live in a city built on shifting sands of myth, it can be hard to know which way is up.

Kathryn Massey spends her days spreading rumors and keeping secrets. Losing herself one headline at a time has left Kathryn’s personal identity scattered - and dumps her at the narrow end of the bargaining table with the man she trusts the least.

Gwendolyn Brick has simpler aspirations. As a costume designer, her sights are set on glamour, not heights of fame. But her friendship with Marilyn Monroe puts her directly into the crosshairs of studio head, Darryl Zanuck - and he’s someone you don’t say no to.

Marcus Adler is stuck in a much more precarious situation. Exiled in Rome but under the spell of an unexpected romance, he’ll have to learn to say goodbye to everything he’s accomplished in order to give love a chance.

In City of Myths, the road through Hollywood bears sharply to the right as those who dare to play its game can easily become lost in its intoxicating glow.

Another Narrator PLEASE !!!!

I am disappointed with the narration of this book. If you are expecting the same wonderful reading as in the first seven books of this series, you will not be happy. I have enjoyed all three of the narrators used previously in these books, but this one falls short of the high marks set by his predecessors. I am returning the Audible version and will just read the e-book this time.

best book yet in this series

For me, this was the best book yet in this series. We see interesting arcs in the romantic lives of our favorite characters, wonderful depictions of famous Hollywood people, and story lines that make you want to keep listening.

Hollywood thru silent movies to the 1960's

I've read the whole series. I loved the way the series was written. it was if we all grew up together in the Hollywood, Los Angeles area. The way the author used his fictional characters to create a story based on the history of the Garden of Allah. The story starts with silent film era (1920's)as sound is added to the movies, with book written around historical event, The characters are threaded through each book in ways that represents the time fame of the book you're reading, with the last book finishing up with the selling of the Garden of Allah being sold and replaced with a strip mall. I couldn't wait for each book to be released so could see what his characters were doing.
I highly recommend these book for a joyful and interesting read about Hollywood golden era.
