Publisher's Summary

Hurt one too many times in the past, Sloan Fairchild is convinced that she will never be able to trust her heart to a man again. Instead, she pours all her energy into making a success of her elegant San Francisco bed and breakfast inn. But when her best friend asks her to house her fiancé for a month, Sloan opens the doors of Fairchild House to Carter Madison...and meets a man who turns her world - and her concept of herself - upside down.

Carter, a best selling author, is looking for a little peace and quiet so he can finish his latest novel before his wedding. The last thing he expects is to find himself instantly attracted to his hostess - or her to him. As the days pass, Sloan tries to ignore the feelings this handsome, disturbingly perceptive man stirs in her...tries to stop herself from dreaming dreams that can never be. But as Carter reveals his overwhelming desire for her, Sloan is left to struggle against her own deepest longing: to know just once how it feels to be truly cherished.

Caught between love and loyalty to her best friend, Sloan must search her soul and make a choice: to love for the moment, to walk away forever, or to fight to have it all.

Great Story, very very bad audio quality.

I love Sandra Brown and an author. I am always entertained when I listen to or read one of her books. I am sad to say that the audio quality for this book is terrible. The narration by Robin Mattson is ok, but the quality of the audio really did detract form the experience. Audible you should record this one again, please.

Need improvement

The only problem I had with this book was at certain time in the book music would play at the same time the narrator is talking and I could bearly hear what she is saying. Other then that, it was a good book.

Quality not the best ..but still enjoyed the story

Quite enjoyed this one, pleasant narration & easy to listen to..although the quality at times made it almost difficult to listen to.What I really liked about this one too was the natural manner in which it was narrated..ie the female narrator doesn't attempt to sound masculine when reading the male lines..!

Terrible sound quality!!!

Love Sandra Brown but this story was so BADLY recorded you could barely listen.....in fact for the first time ever I gave up!!! At the end of each chapter there was music - over the top of the narrator.....so you could make out a word!! Appalling!

Poor quality sound, photo doesn't match title

Would you try another book from Sandra Brown and/or Robin Mattson?

Maybe on Sandra Brown, Robin sounded too old to portray a young character.

Would you be willing to try another book from Sandra Brown? Why or why not?

I have read other Brown books and liked them.

What didn’t you like about Robin Mattson’s performance?

Between the low quality of sound and music on this audible, Robin sounded too old to portray the characters in this book.

Do you think Breakfast in Bed needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No.

Don't Spend your Money on this.

Worst performance I have ever listened to. Sound quality was terrible.Could not listen very long.. Why the confusing illustration? I have the unabridged cassettes, narrated by Richard Poe (very good performance) but wanted story on my ipod.
