Story
Badass Habits is a eureka-sparking, easy-to-digest look at how our habits make us who we are, from the measly moments that happen in private to the resolutions we loudly broadcast (and, erm, often don't keep) on social media. Habit busting and building goes way beyond becoming a dedicated flosser or never showing up late again - our habits reveal our unmet desires, the gaps in our boundaries, our level of self-awareness, and our unconscious beliefs and fears.

Story
It's comforting to imagine that superstars in their fields were just born better equipped than the rest of us. When a co-worker loses 20 pounds, or a friend runs a marathon while completing a huge project at work, we assume they have more grit, more willpower, more innate talent, and above all, more motivation to see their goals through. But that's not at actually true, as popular Inc.com columnist Jeff Haden proves. "Motivation" as we know it is a myth. Motivation isn't the special sauce that we require at the beginning of any major change.

Story
Many of us know we're putting too much pressure on our kids - and on ourselves - but how do we get off this crazy train? We want our children to succeed, to be their best, and to do their best, but what if they are not on board? A few years ago, Ned Johnson and Bill Stixrud started noticing the same problem from different angles: even high-performing kids were coming to them acutely stressed and lacking any real motivation. Many complained that they had no real control over their lives.

For years Ryder Carroll tried countless organizing systems, online and off, but none of them fit the way his mind worked. Out of sheer necessity, he developed a method called the Bullet Journal that helped him become consistently focused and effective. Then it went viral. To his astonishment, Bullet Journaling is now a global movement. The Bullet Journal Method is about much more than organizing your notes and to-do lists. It's about what Carroll calls "intentional living": weeding out distractions and focusing your time and energy in pursuit of what's truly meaningful.

Parker defines a gathering as three or more people who come together for a specific purpose. When we understand why we gather, she says - to acknowledge, to learn, to challenge, to change - we learn how to organize gatherings that are relevant and memorable.

The book draws its inspiration from stoicism, the ancient Greek philosophy of enduring pain or adversity with perseverance and resilience. Stoics focus on the things they can control, let go of everything else, and turn every new obstacle into an opportunity to get better, stronger, tougher. As Marcus Aurelius put it nearly 2000 years ago: “The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.”

Publisher's summary
Instant Number One New York Times Best Seller
“This book will change lives.” (Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat, Pray, Love)
From the host of the award-winning MarieTV and The Marie Forleo Podcast, an indispensable handbook for becoming the creative force of your own life.
While most self-help books offer quick fixes, Everything is Figureoutable will retrain your brain to think more creatively and positively in the face of setbacks. In the words of Cheryl Strayed, it’s “a must-read for anyone who wants to face their fears, fulfill their dreams, and find a better way forward.”
If you’re having trouble solving a problem or reaching a dream, the problem isn’t you. It’s that you haven’t yet installed the one belief that changes everything.
Marie’s mom once told her, “Nothing in life is that complicated. You can do whatever you set your mind to if you roll up your sleeves. Everything is figureoutable.”
Whether you want to leave a dead end job, break an addiction, learn to dance, heal a relationship, or grow a business, Everything is Figureoutable will show you how.
You’ll learn:
- The habit that makes it 42 percent more likely you’ll achieve your goals.
- How to overcome a lack of time and money.
- How to deal with criticism and imposter syndrome.
It’s more than just a fun phrase to say. It’s a philosophy of relentless optimism. A mindset. A mantra. A conviction.
Most important, it’s about to make you unstoppable.
Critic reviews
"Everything is Figureoutable is a whirlwind of power, humor, pragmatism, and grace. Marie Forleo writes exactly the way she lives - with full-on enthusiasm, no-bullshit directness, and a ferocious commitment to self-accountability. This woman is the real deal, people. This book will change lives." (Liz Gilbert, author of Eat, Pray, Love and Big Magic)
"Everything Is Figureoutable will revolutionize your life. Whatever you’re working on, dreaming of, or even avoiding, the solution is spelled out here. And if you’re thinking ‘But I can’t,’ you especially need to stop reading this blurb and just buy the book already, because as Marie will show you through the inspiring stories and practical tools in these power-packed pages, you CAN!" (Sarah Jones, Tony and Obie Award-winning performer and writer)
"What does it take to make a reader feel loved, inspired, and called out on their BS all at the same time? I don't know, but Marie Forleo has figured it out! Smart, funny, and as brilliant as it is straightforward. LOVED it!" (Brené Brown, PhD, author of Dare to Lead and Daring Greatly)

I was wanting more how-to instead of memoir.
I don't know what I was expecting when purchasing this audiobook, but I just wasn't feeling it when I continued to listen. I got to Chapter 3 and there still isn't anything but a few pep talks and other people's examples of how they realized "everything is figureoutable." I was hoping for some real honest ways that you can beat the negative self-talk and fear that stops most of us from reaching for our goals, but I haven't found it yet in the book. I skimmed the chapter headings and it seems there is mostly more examples to come, no real detailed solutions.
I have to say though I love Marie's speaking voice. She is engaging and great to listen to, but the content of the book is what I'm not happy with. I just cannot see myself spending my scare time, a whole 8 hours, listening to this book when it's just a book of "you can do it!" and "feel-good examples." Honestly, I guess there really isn't anything "new" per say in the self-help world on how to kick start your life and get things done, but I was just expecting something else from this book. Instead of self-help-ish it is more like a memoir with Marie's and other people's stories sprinkled in.

Love Marie's energy but disappointing
I am a fan of Marie's but I just couldn't connect to this book and only got halfway. I like hearing about her drive and how she shifted her career from Wall Street to a motivator, but I couldn't find myself in this book. There was a missed opportunity for her to really delve and take us to a deeper place of purpose. She didn't challenge her readers. We are already working on ourselves and figuring things out, so give us something more next time. Marie has such an appeal, so I look forward to her next book. But this book felt too obvious and just not enough.

The title itself is enough
Everything is figureoutable: that's what her mom said and did
Everything is figureoutable: that's what she did
Everything is figureoutable: that's what her readers did
Everything is figureoutable: that's what famous people did.
Other people can do it, so why can't you? Now, go figure by yourself.
2 hours into the book, and I just couldn't continue listening. The book is just piled up with examples that you can just google by yourself.

Can't Figure Out Why this Book is So Bad!
Sorry Marie! I love you and I love your YouTube channel and your other content, but I hate your book! Too many stories! Too much filler stuff and NOT enough content!
The days of constant story telling in books is gone... and you definitely overdid it with stories in this book! People want solid content that they can apply now! My question is... "where's the beef"?
Everything is figureoutable except why you wrote such a lackluster book! Sorry... I have to tell the truth! I could not get through this book! To repeat.. I love You! I hate your book!

Total rubbish
The book started really nice until she started babbling rubbish. If you are new to self-help then may this is for you. If you have read a lot of self-help then you won’t find anything new here. I wish I had borrowed it from the library at first before I got it in audio. It’s like when you talk to kids in kindergarten is what this book sound like. What was the purpose of even writing this book Marie? Broke? Ugh 🤦🏻♀️ what a waste.

Mostly common sense
Helpful if you have never read any self-development books, ever. But a huge portion of the book is her repeating or literally reading word for word other's thoughts and motivational work.

So many nuggets of wisdom and inspiration
This book fires me up to get things done, to not care what other people think, to stop overthinking.. and more. I’ve listened to this twice now since it came out, and I see myself listening many more times when I need a boost, a pick me up, a pat on the back, a kick in the butt.
There are so many nuggets of wisdom in this book that I keep in the back pocket of my brain. So many repeatable, sharable, simplified ideas. Maybe not word for word, but the effects are just as strong for me.
Better to start small and sucky than to stay small and stucky.
Compareschlager (makes you sick)
Where your thoughts go, energy flows..
Insight without action is worthless.. and many more I’ll let you find out for yourself!
Thank you Marie!

I couldn’t finish it. I don’t remember the last time I didn’t want to finish a book. It’s very, very basic. If you’ve spent any length of time on personal development, this book isn’t for you. It would be a good starting off point, probably.

If you have a dream, this is an action plan
I’m a long time fan of Marie Forleo! I relate well to her as I grew up with a single Italian mom from Staten Island with an Irish dad. She has a way of simplifying what our minds make overly complex. For me, it helps me see things different and makes things attainable. I enjoy listening to the audio version in the car. I have it on so my kids can hear it.
She’s inspiring because she followed her dream, her gut and did not, and has not, stopped. Marie has a way of sharing her kindness with you that makes you want to do better for yourself. I love that she uses her gift and encourages the rest of us to use ours too! 💖

Habit busting and building goes way beyond becoming a dedicated flosser or never showing up late again - our habits reveal our unmet desires, the gaps in our boundaries, our level of self-awareness, and our unconscious beliefs and fears.

Story
Every day, we find ourselves in gatherings, Priya Parker says in The Art of Gathering. If we can understand what makes these gatherings effective and memorable, then we can reframe and redirect them to benefit everyone, host and guest alike. Parker defines a gathering as three or more people who come together for a specific purpose. When we understand why we gather, she says - to acknowledge, to learn, to challenge, to change - we learn how to organize gatherings that are relevant and memorable.

Story
For years Ryder Carroll tried countless organizing systems, online and off, but none of them fit the way his mind worked. Out of sheer necessity, he developed a method called the Bullet Journal that helped him become consistently focused and effective. Then it went viral. To his astonishment, Bullet Journaling is now a global movement. The Bullet Journal Method is about much more than organizing your notes and to-do lists. It's about what Carroll calls "intentional living": weeding out distractions and focusing your time and energy in pursuit of what's truly meaningful.

The essence of bargaining isn't the transaction, but the conversation and human connection.
