She should've been more careful. I'm going to own her. Consume her. Maybe even keep her. It's time to collect what I'm owed.
Jackson "The Beast" Boudreaux is rich, gorgeous, and unbelievably rude to the staff at Chef Bianca Hardwick's New Orleans restaurant. We met in a trapped elevator. Emmett was on his way to work, sophisticated and handsome in his tailored suit and tie. I was on my way to the sperm bank. Awkward, right? At 35, my life hadn't taken the path I thought it would and I was tired of waiting - I wanted a baby. And I was ready to take matters into my own hands to make it happen. After our ill-fated elevator encounter, Emmett insisted on taking me to dinner - he also insisted on something else - that I ditch my plan involving a turkey baster and let him do the job. He would be my baby daddy.

So much so, Paxton swore her revenge on me if it took her until the day she died.

Dr. Devlin Dane has had his sights set on my panties for months. But I've done a stellar job of fending him off. As Mercy Medical's most eligible bachelor, he has no problem in the panty-dropping department. He's tall, dark, and inked all over. I get the appeal; I'm not dead. I'm not stupid either. He's a walking heartbreak waiting to happen. But when Reese Dane comes crashing into my life - literally- the game suddenly changes. The two have an unstoppable pull like centrifugal force.

I tried so hard to believe in what I was, but nobody understood.
The last thing she needs after running from one monster is to land in the lair of the devil. Twenty-one-year-old Ember flees her past with soot on her face, ash in her hair, and a promise. If you could sum up Withstanding Me in three words, what would they be?
Gritty Sweet Romance
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
More like a series like SOA only that show had more depth, someone could easily make this into a tv series and just add more layers to the characters and flesh out some to the secondary characters.
Any additional comments?
Great Story it's not you're everyday run of the mill romance.
These characters lead a strange and not so traditional life. I wish the book had more of a story line to it, where the h/h shared more of an intimate bond.
If you want to laugh and just need something chill to listen to, this story is great.
