Publisher's Summary

Emory: Will Grayson has always been an animal. Reckless, wild, and someone who was never bound by a single rule other than to do exactly what he wanted. There was no way his grandfather was going to risk him humiliating the family again.

Not that the last time was entirely his fault. He might've enjoyed backing me into corners in high school when no one was looking, so they wouldn't catch on that Mr. Popular actually wanted a piece of that quiet, little nerd he loved to torture so much, but...he could also be warm. And fierce in keeping me safe.

The truth is...he has a right to hate me. It's all my fault. And I regret nothing.

Will: I never minded being locked up. I learned a long time ago that being treated like an animal gives you permission to act like one. Their only mistake is believing anything I do is an accident. I can sit in this house with no internet, television, liquor, or girls, but I'll come out of here with something far more frightening to my enemies. A plan.

I just didn't expect one of my enemies to come to me. I can smell her hiding in the house. She's here. Blackchurch houses five prisoners. I'm only one of her problems.

Contains mature themes.

OMFG!!!!

I HAD CHILLS RUN DOWN MY BODY AT THE END OF THIS BOOK..... I HAD TO REPLAY THE LAST FEW MINUTES OVER AGAIN AND GOT CHILLS THE 2ND TIME.

What's going to happen to Athos and and everyone? I hate cliffhangers....seriously!!!!!!

I absolutely fell in love with this series and need to know what happens. This series is just amazing. It is truly DARK Romance and it not for the faint of heart. There is child abuse, sexual abuse, rape, you name it, so if you have triggers, this series is not for you. However, if you love Dark Romance, this series is phenomenal, just start with book 1.

I love the narrators, they are great!

Nightfall by Penelope Douglas
Emory lived a life of pain and abuse, to protect her aging Grandmother. Will had been infatuated with Emory, the nerd, the girl with big glasses, and clothes that hide her body, she tried her utmost not to be seen. But there was so much more to her, and he wanted her. Emory rejected him at every turn. Until they spend a magical night together and then it all comes crashing down. Emory did what she thought she had to. And Will had vowed for revenge. While we all thought Will to be the one that was not calculated, in this story we see a different side to him, and how he planned to bring down the mighty. Included in that plan is Emory, except she lands up in Blackchurch, the place where the rich and famous send their sons to be taught the lesson to never disgrace the family. Emory finds herself in a terrible situation especially since she was the cause of Will's fall from grace. What are the chances he would forgive her? And are the men in Blackchurch setting her up for the ultimate fall For me personally, I found this story long-winded and a tad boring, with everything but the kitchen sink thrown in. The early days of Will and Emory were great, you feel the connection, but then Blackchurch happened, and it played out like a shock factor, to see how you could push the reader’s boundaries. I don’t have a problem with boundaries if they move the story along and it makes sense. But it didn’t make sense, the characters were not the same – something was off. If anything, I felt like the author just had fleeting thoughts and threw them all in and unfortunately it came across as a mess. There were parts that I really enjoyed and other parts that were so unnecessary and came across as filler. Overall, it was just an okay read for me, I really did expect more from Ms. Douglas on this one. I listened to this and the narrators did a superb job - I just was not wow on this story.

Amazing!

I have to say this is one of the best series I've ever read. with every book I I thought it couldn't get better, then I'd get to the next book and say this is definitely my favorite, there's no way it gets better, then it gets better! Thank you Penelope Douglas for sharing your gift.

This series is one of my favorites of all time!!

I haven't been swept away by a series in a long time! Usually I read the first book in the series and maybe half of the second before I get bored and move onto something new. (ADD at its finest!) But this series....Holy crap it captured me from the start and just continued to get better and better! Each story just melted into the others and It was truly like I was listening to a movie. (if that makes sense)
I fell in love with each couple I laughed, I cried, there are moments I though I was going to walk away pregnant from certain scenes! Holy hotness! The hor scenes pushed my boundaries and it was fun! Anyways...I hope you enjoy this series! I'm officially hooked on Penelope Douglas!

If DEVILS NIGHT were a thing!

This has been one of the best series I have had the pleasure to read. Lots of intrigue, suspense, romance. I'm glad they finally got to Will and Emory's story. But there are triggers so people should be aware of that. I still like Damon and Winter's story the best out of all. I cannot say enough good things about this author and her story telling. This series is awesome. I did struggle a little with the female narrator but it was never enough to make me stop listening.

Penelope never disappoints! We want what we want

Not sure why I waited so long. Will has always been my favorite and his story did not disappoint. 😍 I just love how she develops characters and how easy it is to ride the train of emotions that her stories take you on. If your debating reading the book, but you’ve read the authors work before then definitely go for it. If your new to the author, read them in order for the best experience but definitely give them a shot.

Trigger warnings for repeat abuse.

So many feelings of rejection and inadequacy. 😔 Things took a while to get interesting for me and I got a little lost with the past/present sequences, but omg so worth it for when things really got going. That wedding...❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
A couple MM scenes and a FF scene 🔥🔥🔥
I've noticed that whichever horseman the book is about, the deepest and darkest scenes are about or involve Damon, and the women are the true badasses of the series.

Calm and steady

I went into this book with anxious anticipation and ended it on a good note. I appreciated the dual timeline because it helped build and mold these characters in the present state.
This book started out strong and kept me on my toes with interest, but I got a little lost about 50% in. I just couldn’t quite follow where the story was taking me and although I do enjoy some hot sexy group action, there was one particular scene that just didn’t fit in. however, I did find my footing once the setting of the story landed back in Thunder Bay. I’m so glad I finished it off because that epilogue was well worth the 20 hours it took to get there. And once again, I am utterly excited to see if this is a start to a new series with the next gen kids of Thunder Bay.
I listened while reading along to the narration and was very much satisfied with both Tatiana and Jeremy’s work. Jeremy’s voice fit Will’s character to a T and is very pleasing to the ear *wink, wink*

Loved It

Another great book by Penelope Douglas. All the books in the series have been brilliant. Look forward to reading her future books and hope she carries on with the new generation. Brilliant narration and hoping she continues her series with both Jeremy York and Tatiana Sokolov.
