Publisher's Summary

This is what happened: I met him at the candy store. He turned and smiled at me and I was surprised enough to smile back. This was not a children's candy store, mind you, this was the kind of place you went to buy expensive imported chocolate truffles for your boss' wife because you felt guilty for having sex with him when you were both at a conference in Milwaukee.

Hypothetically speaking, of course. I've been hit on plenty of times, mostly by men with little finesse who thought what was between their legs made up for what they lacked between their ears. Sometimes I went home with them anyway, just because it felt good to want and be wanted, even if it was mostly fake. The problem with wanting is that it's like pouring water into a vase full of stones. It fills you up before you know it, leaving no room for anything else.

I don't apologize for who I am or what I've done in or out of bed. I have my job, my house, and my life, and for a long time I haven't wanted anything else. Until Dan. Until now.

    "Disappointed"

I enjoyed the beginning, but the story seemed to drag. I lost interest about 3/4 way through the book and stopped reading. Plus, the narrator was great for the protagonist, but horrible for the man. The narrator's male voice impersonation sounded like an old man who smoked cigarettes. Another big turn off.

    "needed a better narrator"

A narrator makes or breaks an audio book. I've listened to a lot of audio books and this female narrator has the worst male voice. I would have liked it, and possibly even finished it, but I couldn't get into the book with her male voice.

    "Narration"

This book was horrible listening to. I barely made it through and I couldn't enjoy because every time she spoke as Dan it sounded like she was being stabbed. Just horrible narration.

    "Good, steady listen"

A good listen...no big twists and turns, just a steady account of a real life situation than man find themselves in. I surely was not disappointed.

    "Loved it!"

I loved the main characters. I did not enjoy the voice of the mother or Gavin. Seemed forced and not believable.

    "Good story - annoying narration"

Didnt finish due to narrator's voice. Men's voice sounded young and like had cancer. Women's sounded young and Elle's voice didnt measure up to her supposed intelligence

    "Keep with it."

It took me at least fifteen times to try to get in to this book. The beginning is terrible but once you get into it, it gets really good. The story line keeps you going. The narrator is great for the female characters but TERRIBLE for the male characters. EVERY male character made me think of an very elderly man. The author does not describe the characters very well in this books so the narrator does not help the story.
