A new standalone novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Vi Keeland. The night I met Drew Jagger, he'd just broken into my new Park Avenue office. I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills. He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing. Quinn is satisfied his life is moving forward. He was more than ready to take the plunge, but the road to future bliss can be long and bumpy. As a card-carrying dominant, his need to retain control is necessary but with his feisty woman, control may be more of a perception than a reality. Is their relationship's foundation strong enough to take so many changes and challenges without crumbling? In all the preparations for a life together, are they ready?

I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review. Unfortunately I am unable to give the book a very positive review. I finished the book, only because I felt obliged to listen to completion to give it a fair review.
AudioBook Boom rated the book as “contemporary romance” and Audible rated it as “erotic fiction.” This book was neither erotic nor romantic in my opinion! I was not offended by the book, I was bored! Both the plot and characterization of this book were very poorly done.
The hero and heroine were engaged at the beginning of the book, so there was no romantic courting between the couple. The heroine was very immature and bratty. The hero was constantly punishing her by spanking to correct this bratty and immature behaviour. This was basically the whole plot! The hero was supposed to be a Dominant and practicing a BDSM relationship with the heroine, his Sub. The BDSM in the book was all talk---no action, except the spanking. The hero and heroine were constantly saying how much they loved each other, but it never felt believable. The brief Daddy Dom medical scene was pretty ridiculous!
The character development was very incomplete. We learn that the heroine has a strong business. The hero is a firefighter and/or a deputy sherif. However there is no connection to these jobs. The relationships with the hero’s family appears to be strong, but again very superficially shown in the writing. In good fiction the characters become “real people.” To like a book, I usually want to find some likeable characters in it. Both the heroine and hero were unappealing characters. How could a supposedly strong Dominant man be interested in such a wimpy, bratty girl? The hero does not come across a strong Dominant man.
I read very eclectically, but I have recently been reading a lot of romance and erotic romance fiction. “The best romance novelists are writers who draw readers in with a beautiful love story and keep them interested with compelling details.“ This quote says what I want to find in a good romance. There are some very good writers from whom to choose. (Cherise Sinclair, Joey Hill, and Emma Holly, Georgette Heyer, Diana Gabaldon ---to name just a few.) I would encourage the author to study other contemporary romance writers.; there are lots of good ones!
The narrator was fine.

I requested this book because it was listed under contemporary romance. I started listening and could easily see it was not a contemporary romance. I was surprised when I checked and realized it was under Erotica at Audible. I have listened to a few books that have BDSM and I have to have strong characters that are well developed and a good story to go along with. This story did not grab my attention at all and the narration did not bring the story to life. There was not much emotion or feelings expressed through his narration.
I honestly did not care for the story and the characters at all but gave it a 3 stars because I seldom read anything in this genre and had no interest in torturing myself for over 8 hours. I have not read the first book in this series but not sure it would have helped.
This book is definitely not for me.

This is the second book involving Quinn and Cheyenne..I didn't read the first book but it isn't necessary to understand this book. It's apparent the first book involved their dating and Cheyennes introduction to Quinn's disciplinarian life style. Quinn comes from a family of very alpha males who all spank their wives for discipline...but Quinn takes it further by belonging to a BDSM club and floggers, plugs and scene play.
Cheyenne and he have dated for 2 years and are going to marry...Cheyenne is an independent woman and she has some issues with his dominance... they are trying to work out what works for them. There is a lot of back and forth..spanking...Cheyenne doing things that Quinn believes places herself in danger and therefore disciplines her. The man taking so much control of their lives is a bit difficult for me and less spanking would have worked for me. H author did have Quinn seem less controlling when we could hear what was going on in her head and that he did not want to stifle Cheyenne but did truly love her. I wish she had made him more miserable when she found out his "surprise"...he should have paid more for his carelessness.
I generally like the narrator, slogan McAllister, but The tempo and emotion was off and I just didn't enjoy his reading.
zip you enjoy spanking..this is for you...also for a BDSM book there was no sex to speak of...Quinn would not have sex with Cheyenne until they were married...but obviously had sex before as had she...seemed odd
It took me quite a while to finish this one. I just couldn't get into the story and at times I didn't feel any emotion from the narrator.

I have mixed feelings about the book. Perhaps I would've enjoyed it more had I read/listened to the first book in the series prior, so that I could have more background on the characters. There are SO MANY characters - most of them doms and submissives, so this is definitely a book for those that are fans of reading about "the lifestyle." Truth be told, I didn't really like Cheyenne - she came off as a brat. She seemed so opposed to so many aspects of the lifestyle, it made me question the basis of her relationship with Quinlan in the first place since he was so immersed and committed to it. Quin was sort of hard to take too, but he reminded me of some of the MC's I've liked in the few historical romances I've enjoyed. He was super protective of Cheyenne and while it was overbearing at times, it was also a bit endearing. It seemed as if the majority of the book was Cheyenne doing something to endanger herself and then Quin coming in to discipline her. Over and over again. So in a way, I found the book a bit repetitive and formulaic. However, it was hot as heck - if you're in to spanking that is. Overall, I give the book 3 out five wine glasses and I'll read the first book in the series to see if it changes my perspective.
This is a, dare I even write it, fetish book for sure. There is- and I'm not giving anything away here- a LOT of spanking. If you go for that kind of thing, hey, more power to you, enjoy. So, I guess the biggest 'pro' is the fetish spanking. As far as the 'cons'; the narrator sounds a bit like a robot. The voice is smooth, but the cadence is off. In his defense, it does get a bit racy, which I'm sure is difficult to narrate to. The plot, well, there is very little plot, I mean, it is a fetish novel, but what plot there is is not bad. The male lead is well written, but the 'heroine(?)', girl protagonist(?), is a mess, she is all over the place with her moods and attitudes towards, well, everything. I kind of wanted to spank her myself sometimes. I would recommend reading this book if you are really into this kind of thing, don't read it for the plot... or characters... and don't listen to it for the narrator. Listen to it for the spanking. If you disobey this review, I'll have to spank you. Hahaha.

given this audiobook for free by narrator through Audiobook Boom. overall book was good. liked it just didnt love it.
What did you like best about Accepting His Ways? What did you like least?
I loved Logan's narration but Cheyanne is one of my least favorite female leads.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I prefer a strong female and I didn't get that from Cheyanne.
Have you listened to any of Logan McAllister’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
As always, he does a great job.
Any additional comments?
I received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
I am on the fence with this one. Nothing terrible but nothing that grabbed my attention either.
This is the second in a series and I did not read the first. I'm not sure how much of a difference that might have made. Read on it's own, there are some things that you don't quite get.
The narration didn't draw me in either, so while it was an ok listen for me as a free one, I'd have been a bit disappointed if I had paid for it.

Any additional comments?
This audiobook was given to me for a honest unbiased review. This was awesome. I loved the steamy scenes. Yet they were still loving. Well written.
I was not expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did, since listening I have found myself listening to and reading more books like this one. If you enjoy something a little different and a little naughty then give this a go.
A couple of issues with the narration, mistakes but I love the narrators voice, definitely added to the enjoyment of the book.
