Publisher's Summary

Bonjour, my name is André Chevalier. It has been my joy and my great honor to help those who have lost their way. Not long after I began my journey, I met two such wounded souls.

Renata Koreman is my little mouse. She came to me as a child - shy, mute, injured, and broken. It took oh-so-many years to start to bring her back to herself. Yet, I could not fully heal her.

Years later, Grant Wilkinson, he, too, fell into my hands. The ex-Army Ranger was badly disfigured and saw himself as a monster. Isolated by secrets, solitary, and self-contained, his colleagues affectionately named him "Frosty". Yet, how should one behave when besieged by a lifetime of confusion and guilt?

The moment I saw him, I thought of her and I wondered. The eyes, they cannot always see clearly. And the heart? Ah, the heart can only guess at the truth. So it was that I remained uncertain.

Could the mouse and the monster heal each other?

Behind a backdrop of secrets, scandal, and murder, Abuse: The Complete Trilogy (Abuse, Accuse, Avenge) is a realistic journey full of healing, twists, turns, and surprises.

Mr. Scarlato does a freaking AMAZING job

Audio-book: Narrator - Roberto Scarlato

Wow! Mr. Scarlato does a freaking AMAZING job of narrating this story!!! He did both male and female perfectly which can be a difficult task. On top of that, he does a remarkable job of Andre’s French voice. Even the chapter openers were done with consideration to the accents and tones of the person who was being quoted. The detailing of this narration was unlike any I have listened to before!

Abuse

Wow, this one has so much pain and heartache. I loved these characters and the connection they immediately feel for one another. Andre is definitely a keeper and I respected the heck out of the way he helped both Renata and Grant. So many secrets to be revealed and I can’t wait to continue on into Accuse.

Accuse

Renata and Grant grow closer as the story covers so many layers of psychological healing through connecting with another person. As a sexual surrogate, Renata helps to lead Grant to a place where he is able to open up through communication as well as sexually. There isn’t a lot to the backstory of being “accused” but some groundwork is laid. This has a lot of sex in it, but there is so much more to it as well. Obviously, this author has tremendous experience in the mental health care system or did an incredible job of researching the topic.

I am totally in love with both of these characters as they move through their past issues and push forward into the future. Cannot wait to learn what the “mystery” will eventually reveal.

Avenge

Holy wow! This one just blew me away as all the mysteries are revealed. The secrets run deeper than I ever expected! Grant and Renata learn to rely on each other as they move through the obstacles that arise. With Andre’s advice in the forefront of their minds, they both struggle to make decisions and changes that will help to alter their current life as well as their futures.

There is a ton of sex as Grant continues to work through some of his issues but I loved how Renata was always attuned to his needs. The secondary characters play a bigger role and were done in an exceptional manner, supporting the plotline and helping to move the story along.

I truly enjoyed everything about this book and this series.

While I own an ebook of this trilogy, I was given this free review copy audio-book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

WOW! emotionally charged with some oohhh

I don't usually take time for reviews but, this needed it! Nikki Sex has a way with touching the most unwanted topics to talk about and turning it into a topic that once opened, no one wants to stop! Child abuse in ANY form is despicable however, sexual abuse is so tabu that every one makes it a crime to talk about. therefore children of sexual abuse turn out to be adults of sexual abuse with so many mental problems that they are labeled crazy or mean.
This book really shows how after opening up and confronting what happened or is happening, that a new beginning can happen and is possible.
Now let me say that this book is not for the faint of hearts, some parts are hard to listen to (weather or not you have been a victim of child abuse) but it gives great understanding as to why it has been so easy for prediters to get away with it for SOOOO long!
There are some very detailed sex scenes (between consenting adults) that will make you tingle and seek out you significant other...lol. And some scenes that will make you cringe and maybe cry. No matter how you look at it, you WILL end this book with a lot of thoughts.
I do recommend this book to all ESPECIALLY those studying criminal law or counseling or psychiatry.

Intense

Intense and very moving, this story deals with abuse and overcoming it’s effects. Many complex and intriguing characters kept me hooked, I wanted to know more about them and what happens to them. Andre is absolutely fascinating. Amazing narrator! He put so much emotion into his performance, I could really relate to the characters and what they were feeling, they became so real. Where do I begin...

Narrator- I think Roberto Scarlato did a fantastic job but in no way should he have done it alone. IMO, as good as Roberto is, having a single narrator took away from the story.

Writing- I didn't like the way the book varied from first person to third person on top of multiple POV's. It became very confusing.

Plot- There was WAY too much going on. So many terrible issues the characters had to deal with was overwhelming. I loved how the story had so many twists but it took forever for some of the twists to make sense bcz of forgot what happened before making the dots harder to connect.

OVERALL- It was a very, VERY, verrrry long and depressing book. I think it should never be a trilogy bcz it was soooooo long and sad at times. I loved learning new things I hadn't knew before like- sexual surrogatacy. Who knew that was a thing? This book should have been written differently- such as this is the heroines book and this is the heros book and this is the therapist story etc. IDK- it was good in some respects but so draining. I appreciated some aspects of the story telling but just when I would get used to something it changed. This book had to take a lot of effort to write bcz it damn sure took a lot of effort to push through it. At times I had to take a break and didn't want to go back to the hurt of continuing. But alas here's my final thoughts. This is the sort of book that invites gloom to the gloomy.

I received a credit for this book for an honest review.

Intense Psychological Drama

I initially received a complimentary copy of the Abuse audiobook and was absolutely enthralled by Grant and Renata's stories, so when I got the chance to listen to and review the entire trilogy, I jumped at the chance. This is an intense story of childhood sexual abuse and its lingering effects. It is a story of healing, overcoming participant guilt, learning to forgive oneself for crimes perpetrated by others, and reaching for a better future. The facts and circumstance are revealed slowly, and you can't help but devour every minute, and every surprise twist and turn, as you wait for the mystery to finally be revealed. I couldn't stop listening, and the ending did not disappoint.

The narration is absolutely incredible. Mr. Scarlato does a fantastic job voicing both male and female characters, including Andre's accent! A++

This a a long audiobook, but i didn't feel that a single minute was unnecessary or wasted. I will definitely listen to this one again and recommend it to others.

Intense!

I've listened to a few other Nikki Sex books and loved them all so I was very excited when I saw this one. This seemed very different from her other books although it didn't disappoint. I love Nikki for her hot, erotic sex scenes, which this one definitely had, but it also was so much more than that. It was the story of Grant and Renata, two very damaged people who were both victims of child abuse, brought together by a therapist named Andre who appears in several of Nikki's other books. It showed the psychological effects of child abuse and how it is so prevalent in society. The story is fiction yet she threw in a lot of statistics about abuse including a reference to a book and a youtube documentary that Andre referred to in the story that actually do exist. This book is raw and emotional and very well written. Roberto did an amazing job bringing all the characters and their many accents to life. I would highly recommend this book to anyone!
