Publisher's summary

RITA Finalist, bestselling author of the Magic series.

Samantha Neely thought she might have to kill Sloan Talbott. Talbott had already tried to run her and her family out of town, and now she finally had her chance to confront the man she believed responsible for her father's disappearance. To do so, she had to prove she was woman enough to bring down the handsomest, most sinfully dangerous man she'd ever met.

Sloan Talbott called Sam a ragtag redheaded tomboy, but her honeyed voice taunted him. In denims, she made him crazy. In lace, she made him wild. Concealing his own private demons, Sloan didn't need a woman like Sam revealing what kind of man he really was. He couldn't let himself love her, but he couldn't stop wanting her. Instead, he offered her a proposition she ought to refuse…

Good

This was a pretty good book that I listened to on audio. Emmanuel Neely is a free-spirited inventor who has a strong sense of wanderlust. In his absence, the eldest daughter Samantha has always taken care of her mother and her twin sisters. The family moves from Tennessee to California Emmanuel has written to tell them about their new home in the Sierra Mountains. When they arrive in the town of Talbott the owner of the town Sloan Talbott tells them no women are allowed but they must stay and wait for her father. This was a good book Sam dresses in pants and can shoot better than any man. Sam and Sloan lock horns. Turns out these two have a lot of chemistry. I am looking forward to reading or listening to more from this author.

Fun

The story was very creative. I had a bit of a problem with the narrator because the heroine was to have a “sultry voice “… haha… no…. She did not accomplish that at all. Anyway I got over it after a while but the voice Really bugged me for a while

Don't attack the narrator, look to the story.

This is a story about feminism, family and justice in the 1800's.
The ladies were being led west by their uncle,. Their father who had a claim in a western town had disappeared and the family came to find him.
Their uncle dies in route and they adopt their young male cousin. One of the sisters steps up to the "man in charge" dressed in britches.
It iss about bullies, men and womens roles of the time and the benifit ant family can bring to a community.

interesting story, really enjoyed it

I almost didn't listen to this because of the title. it doesn't do it justice and sounds like a cheesy romance novel.
I enjoyed the story very much and am so glad I gave it a chance.

Denim and lace

Very good western story! a very rocky. romance story with a cantankerous group of men, a wild woman and a dishonest leading man keeps the reader on their toes.

Contains too many details on serial encounters

I requested to have no erotica in my choices. How did this series pass by?
