Just before summer begins, 13-year-old Ali finds an old photograph. She recognizes the two children in it; one’s her mother, the other her aunt Dulcie - but who is the third person, the one who’s been torn out of the picture? Ali will have two months to figure it out, since she’s spending the summer with her aunt and her cousin in the same house her mom and aunt used to visit when they were kids.

Then Ali meets Sissy. Sissy is mean, spiteful, and determined to ruin Ali’s summer. Sissy also has a secret. Could it have something to do with the old photo? Ali is dying to find out - though, if she’s not careful, that may be exactly what happens to her.

Predictable but a good story

Although this was a very predictable story for me, it was a good one. Well written and likable characters. Well, maybe "Sissy" wasn't as likable. Goes to show that some things in life can come back to haunt you.

So Intriguing

The story is so intriguing that you do not realize that it is a "ghost story". Excellent writing and narration.

this was a good book if only it was longer. it kept me interested and the narrator did an excellent job.

Mary downing Hahn was one of the first spooky story authors I remember enjoying and coming back to her novels all these years later is such a treat when the story is just as good as I remembered. I wish the voice acting felt more genuine to the situations at hand, I feel the performance in audio books

I Loved this book!!

I had read this book before and loved it! And I still do! The story is great and complex, The only thing that was not so great was the Narrators voice kinda boring to listen to :/. But other then that it was Awesome. Great for kids 9-14!

Everyone sounds the same it was hard to know who was talking but otherwise it was a great book 🤩

My favorite YA author

While the story is predictable for adults, realize that this is written for a younger audience. Younger readers are less likely to predict the ending though some will. Mary Downing Hahn paints eerie pictures with her word craft and as always does not disappoint.

This is the first of Rachel Dulude's performances I've listened to.
I had to admit it, but I typically dislike listening to female narrators. Rachel Dulude did a very good job with this book and it was a pleasant experience.
