Loved it!

I recently read Hex, and was extremely underwhelmed. So I was reluctant to pick up another cursed town story. I am so glad I did. This book was well written, well thought out, and even had an intriguing ending. I have always found the black death tragic yet fascinating. The author did an amazing job with this gem. I highly recommend it 👍🏾!

Time well spent, hope there are more from this author.

I enjoyed every moment of this book. It is a great story read by an outstanding narrator.

Love the book

Really enjoyed this book. Would absolutely recommend it to others if they enjoy ghost stories, infectious disease, and midsomar murders.

Interesting and terrifying

I really enjoyed the storyline. The story went back and forth between two time periods. This novel kept me on the edge of my seat and terrified me at the same time!

Great story, excellent narration

Found it really well written and the narration was very well done. Interesting storyline.

Characters

This book had a lot of characters. Normally, I’m okay with that but I really struggled to keep everyone straight in this one. The concept intrigued me and the ending surprised me.

Good old fashioned horror!

The "ghost voice" was a little over the top but it didn't ruin my enjoyment. if you love old 80s horror by John Saul and the like, this is for you.

Perfect blend of historical and modern horror

I both read and listened to this book, and I have to say that the reader’s performance made this a truly exceptional experience. I wasn’t hooked from page 1, but it didn’t take long for me to find myself rapt and enthralled!

Great read, performance was fantastic. Love content about the plague, great imagery. A good ending as well. Satisfying

It's Cozy

The Narrator did a phenomenal job at voice acting the different characters within the story- too well. At certain portions for Ester I had to turn the volume down to just barely hear what the Narrator was saying for Ester's character as the acting for her was grating my ears. Certain pitches do that.

The story wasn't terrifying nor gory, just a simple cozy kind of horror, though a bit of a yawn in some parts of it. The lore of the Entity I enjoyed the most. The execution of it was slightly lacking, however.

Overall, was a decent listen while I was working on my art.
