Max Baker, a 31-year-old accountant, finds himself in a desperate situation after killing a prostitute in his hotel room. ‘I lost control of myself,’ he says. ‘I couldn’t get the thought out of my head!’ Panicking and unable to dispose of the evidence by himself, he calls on his long-time friend John Kasper for help. Kasper is horrified and hesitant to help at first, but he can’t abandon his friend during his time of need. Max’s family and future are at stake. Together, they devise and execute one plan after another, hopelessly trying to hide Max’s crime...

But how do you make a dead body disappear from the 29th floor of a busy hotel?

Jon Athan, the author of Lovesick and The Groomer, invites you to spend a night with Max and Kasper to explore the human body in this extreme psychological horror novel. Do you have the guts to check-in?

Haven’t read a book like this before. It was intense (in a good way). If you like thriller books, this is for you.

It was rough..suuuper graphic! But what bothered me more was the narrators pronunciation of certain words. If i heard "teef, deaf bafroom, mouf, baftub" any more i was gonna go crazy! It's a narrator for heaven's sake! I mean unless it was on purpose. For the author's sake, I hope so!

yikes

I have read several of Jon Athan books and this is now my least favorite. Unfortunately, not a fan of his one. Storyline was weak and made no sense. Ridiculous book but still a fan!

I’m glad I finished!

Welp, add this one to the books of his that I really enjoyed. Idk if I’ve disliked one yet. 🤔 I love the whole psychotic, talking to himself, hearing voices thing where you’re left wondering who tf he’s talking to. I also like the inner dialogue where he’s fighting himself to not murder people. I guess I just like to hear what goes on in a killer’s mind.

Narrator was awesome! His accent just made this all the better. ♥️

Gruesome

A unique and gripping story. What I would consider a very unique plot and well executed

Another Great one by Jon Athan

In the usual Athan style he delivers lots of graphic descriptions. This is a dark exploration into a mental sickness.

Graphic disturbing body horror

I saw a lot of it coming from a mile away but that didn’t change the fact that it was a fun listen and an interesting thought-exercise

Well-researched, gruesome, although predictable with a frustrating protagonist

This book was part of the problem was the narrator was not pronouncing the words correctly, which interfered with my listening he was using FF instead of TH’s so instead of breath he would say breff -

Questionable narrator
