New York Times best seller

In an exclusive novella set in the world of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, J. R. Ward tells the story of a fiery couple...doomed by an undeniable passion.

Features a special preview of J. R. Ward’s upcoming Black Dagger Brotherhood novel, The Thief!

The last place Ivie expects to be approached by a devastatingly handsome male is in a crowded, smoky cigar bar rarely frequented by vampires - yet here he stands. Silas is flirtatious, gallant, and, above all, mysterious. Ivie is anything but. A nurse at the healer’s clinic and the daughter of a biker, Ivie is accustomed to speaking her mind. So she does. Since aristocrats rarely pick up females of her class, Ivie asks Silas just what kind of game he thinks he’s playing.

Despite her guarded exterior, Ivie surrenders to the fierce desire she feels for Silas. And yet, just as their courtship is heating up, he reveals that it cannot last, for he is bound to return to the Old Country. Their bond only deepens as they make the most of their precious time together. But when she learns the truth, Ivie must find a saving grace - before all is lost....

🌻3 1/2 ⭐️, emotional roller coaster!

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

First, let me point out that, even though this novella is set in the BDB world, it is a completely independent story. There is a brief appearance by Doc Jane and Dr Manelo, and most of the setting is in Haver’s clinic, but there is no involvement of BDB, directly.

I did enjoy this story, even though it was a bit predictable and had some very sad scenes. There were also some amusing moments, mostly involving the Heroine’s family, particularly her father.

I did not spend a credit on this, because the purchase price was less than the cost of credit. Overall, the story was worth the purchase price, in my opinion.

Dearest Ivie

Ivie is such a strong character I loved her honesty and her gumption so very much. She tells it like it is. And sure she might have to apologize later for overstepping but she doesn’t mean for it to come out rude she is just telling her peace.

I loved her father in this story he was the oak she needed and their connection was amazing.
Silas what can I say about him that won’t give too much away well I knew something was up but I wasn’t completely sure. But I loved how he was with Ivie especially at the beginning he hung on her every word. And kind of forced her out of her comforts zone I really liked that.

This book had it all love, connection, the brotherhood (kind of) but it had Wards touch and that was everything. I can’t wait to dive into Thief!

Wished it was longer, loved the humor, cried a little tho

Disliked that it was a novella ...the story was good enough to be a full novel. Their were some cleaver and humorous lines. I cried a little but JR Ward rarely leaves you hanging so all ended well

I cried during the latter part of this story

because J R Ward drew me in as usual. I got my happy ending though.

Don’t Pass This One By

This is a novella from the BDB series that actually stands alone. A few of the characters came into play for a short appearance. This is another well written story that you won’t want to put down. Well worth a credit and well worth your time. A word of advice without giving a spoiler...have your Kleenex ready for your tears. And I need to again say that there is no better narration than from Jim Frangione. He makes (along with JR Ward’s storylines) the BDB series. Keep the series a rolling!

i love this book

I listened to it during my long trip out of town. I had to hide my tears in the airport. Someone thought I was crying over an argument with my husband and I was too embarrassed to admit it was my book.

Loved it!

Beautiful love story! Silas and Ivie were terrific together. It was a pleasure to see Havers in a better light. I thoroughly enjoy reading stories about non-brotherhood characters. It enriches the entire series for me.
