ALOT of twist and turns, filling in blanks and such. Felt like too much was left out of story. But I love BDB.

Nice twist

I loved the twist and the surprising behavior of Devina. A little annoyed that Lash wasn’t as effected as he should have been though. I really thought we were finally done with his crap.

I literally cannot. Lover Forbidden is EVERYTHING I wanted and more. Every. Single. Page. Ward is EVIL and GENIUS. Like… why am I emotionally wrecked and swooning at the same time?! 😩💀

Lyric — yes queen, I feel you. Watching her navigate danger and desire is me IRL, screaming “girl, nooooo” while also screaming “YASSSSS.” Her inner thoughts? Relatable, fierce, and heart-wrenching all at once.

Devlin — okay. Dangerous, brooding, secretive… AND somehow vulnerable?? He has me dying inside every time he’s on the page. The tension with Lyric?? UNREAL. That slow burn? It’s LITERAL FIRE 🔥🔥🔥.

Small spoiler alert (but not full spoilers): the moments when secrets are revealed — my jaw hit the floor. And Ward does not let you breathe! Just when you think it’s safe, there’s another twist that makes you scream at the book.

Side characters are ICONIC. Qhuinn, Blay, Shuli, LW, Rhamp, Layla, Xcor and others bring laughs, heart, and drama that hits HARD. They steal scenes without even trying. And the way they interact with Lyric and Devlin? Perfection. Pure chaotic fanservice energy.

The romance itself — OMG. Enemies-to-lovers perfection. The stolen glances, the tension, the angst — I was literally biting my nails and whispering “nooo” and “YESS” at the same time. Every page had me swooning, crying, and yelling at the characters all at once.

The world-building is dark, immersive, and pulsing with danger. You feel every heartbeat, every risk, every choice. Ward makes you live in the story; it’s impossible to step out of it.

By the end? My heart was shattered and full at the same time. Lyric and Devlin are unforgettable. Ward’s signature emotional destruction + intense romance = PERFECTION.

Lover Forbidden is a chaotic, swoony, emotional ride with danger, forbidden desire, side characters who slay, and plot twists that make you scream out loud. Everything I expected and more from Queen JR! I laughed, cried, gasped, and swooned — and I’m not emotionally recovered yet. The Black Dagger Brotherhood series will always hold my heart and never disappoints.

I liked how Devina isn't all bad. I just wish that they could've ended Lash once and for all.

I love the Black dagger Brotherhood! I didn't think I could enjoy hearing about the next generation but I am so glad I was wrong!
