Great story but...

Would love to listen to all of it but the reader was the worst I have ever heard. It pains me to list to her. Could not listing to even 2 chapters

Captivating story capturing adventure and danger

As a reader of stories from the historical archives about the discovery and building of the old "wild west", for instance "Undaunted Courage", I was very interested in this first person account of a very young girl who kept a vivid daily diary of a trip that today would seem unimaginable. These pioneers are the foundation of today's America!! The narration was boringly slow paced, and I did not know if there was a reason for that slow pace. But if you want an unvarnished peek into a settler's life, here it is.

I couldn't listen anymore

Whoever was reading this book had such a monotone voice that it was absolutely horrible to listen to. It sounded like someone was late reading a grocery list the whole book with no inflection of voice that a storyteller should have. Very disappointing because I listen to every book all the way through. This was my first that I couldn't. If the story was good I wasn't able to find out. Get another reader.
