Finally! The story is complete.

Finally! The story is complete. It has taken Kyla Stone 5 books to tell one story...and that's too much. There are many, many places where the story drags out far too long. Where the action should be fast-paced, the story simply crawls. It makes one say, "Alright, already. Get on with it!" Also, the story is far too contrived to be realistic.

The characters are compelling and Stacey Glemboski performs them well. She gives distinctive voices to the characters and delivers an excellent performance overall.

What a ride this series has been!

First off let me tell you if you have never read this author you are missing out! If you like fast pace action storylines and great characters then I can not stress enough that you need to give this author a try, you will not regret it.
The narrator did a really great job of bring the story and characters to life.
This story takes you on emotional roller coaster. It had everything, laughing, maybe a teardrop or two, you felt the horror, and heartache that Dakota and Eden go though and I am glad that Logan was there for them. I am glad that everyone’s story was given a satisfying ending from the main characters to the lessor ones. I would really like to find out what happens to everyone in say 10 yrs or more down the road.
Thank you for a great ending to this series.

great driving book series.

great story, but a little too much repetitive "self talk" that at times seems like a psychological analysis. I get the motivation, but when characters repeatedly go into their own psychological motives constantly, it breaks up the flow unnecessarily.

move the story along, and just reference the psychological needs issues.

would love to see an abridged version to share with friends.

excellent performance by Stacy!

A Fantastic Book

I've read many apocalyptic books but this set of books has got to be the best yet. From laughing to cry , from loving to hating. From making me hold my breath because of fear to smiles on my face from being happy about how something turned out. From being drawn in so many ways at once to everything coming together as it should. A set of very good books.

Great Listen

I really enjoyed hearing how this story played out. It plays towards the action readers and the romantic ones as well. The narrator did a great job with the voices and intonations.

This was one of the best.

this book series was one of the best I've heard or read. Kyla Stone is a great author, and Stacy Glemboski matches her perfectly. Much like Kevin Pierce and Boyd Craven III.

Final Showdown (and a Smidge of Romance)

The final showdown between Dakota and the The Shepherds reaches its climax in ‘Darkest Night’. Can Dakota and crew succeed in finding and retrieving Eden? Will The Shepherds enact their final vengeance on America? How does the country begin to heal after the nuclear disaster?

Hold onto your hats if you thought the previous books were action-packed, this book will make the previous ones look like kiddie-rides in comparison to the giant roller-coaster ride this one delivers. Beginning-to-end tension-building suspense and action are in abundance in this superb finale of the ‘Nuclear Dawn’ series.

Even with lots of bullets, and other ordnance, flying and well-thought-out hand-to-hand fighting, I must mention the terrific characterizations, especially Dakota and Logan. These two characters go through being adversaries, allies, friends to finally something more. It’s a very long slow-burn to romance, but the pay-off of a blink-and-you-miss-it “I love you.” make these books all the more wonderful. At the end, while left fairly open-ended, there is a sense that Dakota, Logan and all the rest are going to heal and move on from this tragedy.

Stacey Glemboski, one of my top three favorite ‘voice of the apocalypse’ narrators, provides listeners with a perfect performance. She has the outstanding ability, through her voice-acting, to put the listener right into the middle of this superb saga.

This audiobook was given to me by the author as a free review copy. I am now submitting a voluntary opinion now that I’ve listened to it.

Highly recommended.

Good listen needed epilogue

Won't spoil the ending but overall an average storyline. What marked it down IMO was that the battle was a little drawn out towards the end and actual end of the book felt a bit rushed, abrupt. Could have done with a nice epilogue or just the final chapter being a few months/year's down the line. .
characters are good, likeable and you invest in them more so than the story, overall story interesting enough just could have been a bit more twisty.

I love this series!

This is the final book in the Nuclear Dawn series and it is a fitting conclusion to the series. I loved the sad/happy ending, the tension throughout most of the book and the sheer amount of emotion which came across really well. The narrator did an outstanding performance again. I won’t give any of the storyline away & spoil it. It has been a pleasure listening to this series.

Gripping conclusion to an exceptional series

“I am coming for you Maddox. I’m going to kill your father. I am going to kill the Prophet. And then, I am going to kill you.”

Dakota is finally forced to confront her past when she sets out to rescue Eden from the clutches of the Soldiers of Mercy. With the cult intent on carrying out the final phase of their diabolical plan, can Dakota and her team succeed in extricating Eden in time and thwart another attack on US soil?

Darkest Night is the fifth and final instalment of the Nuclear Dawn series. The book is told from Dakota, Eden, Logan, Maddox and Shay’s perspectives. The previous instalment ended on a devastating cliffhanger which saw the death of a beloved character as well as Eden’s abduction. Darkest Night picks up immediately after those events. While Dakota and her friends conduct the funeral, Eden is brought before her father and is horrified to learn that not only must she marry the Prophet the following day, but that the Shepherd’s are responsible for the spate of nuclear attacks across America. Luckily she is able to get word to Dakota by a radio transmitter. Dakota in turn tries to warn Hawthorne. Without evidence however, Hawthorne’s hand are tied and it’s up to Eden and an unexpected ally to provide the necessary proof. Can Dakota and Eden avert another catastrophic attack and at what cost?

Once more the author has delivered a well crafted, suspenseful instalment which kept me on the edge of my seat. The plot moved along fluidly and while certain scenes crackled with tension, others tugged at my heartstrings.

This has been a fantastical multi layered journey of self discovery, powered by adept character development, relentless pacing and building to a climax that is neat and satisfying. I’ll definitely be looking out for future works from the author.

Highly recommended for fans of post apocalyptic survival thrillers.

I received an advanced free audible copy of Point of Impact and I am voluntarily reviewing it. Stacey Glemboski has masterfully brought the characters and story to life with her clear, concise delivery which made it easy to differentiate between characters

Great Ending to a Grand Series!!!

Really liked the tying up of all the loose ends and the ending of the story.... well written and thought out. be sad to see the back of these characters. As always the narration was on point. A really nice serial from a different concept and I enjoyed every minute.
