Publisher's summary

"DAN + ABBY" is graffiti that was scratched into the wet concrete deck of a footbridge decades ago in a southern Arizona city park. The park’s visitors, activities, and public and personal art inspired this anthology of found fiction. The collection includes character sketches, candid images, quick scenes, and sometimes longer pieces. Each story stands alone; together, they are a community.

DAN + ABBY was inspired by Spoon River Anthology by Edgar Lee Masters.

LOVED IT!

What a delightful set of shorts in "found fiction" (which I hadn't even heard of until listening to this audiobook - learn something new ever day!). I enjoyed the author's writing, and liked her voice as well, felt like my mom telling me stories :) I absolutely love people watching, and have thought about writing something similar - I feel inspired now, and just might! Humorous little shorts kept my attention, and I really enjoyed listening :)

Great short stories

What a wonderful way to write short stories. In the description for this book it says "Each story stands alone; together, they are a community. " and I think that is the best way to describe this series of short stories. The author Kay Hartford reads her own books and she does a wonderful job. I really like when an author reads their stories.

Sketches of Everyday Life

I truly enjoyed listening to these short stories. Some of them were just appetizers to be savored quickly and intensely, others a quick meal with all the trimmings. As the author progresses in her narration, we are reintroduced time and again to some of the same characters and the development of their life stories. And so we follow Dan + Abby in their love story with its up and downs, its sweet moments, and the inevitable tragic ones. In between, sketches of everyday life interspersed with other well defined characters. The author did a splendid job in the narration. An audiobook you'll be able to enjoy in its entirety.
