A bad best man’s speech can ruin a wedding. Why do we plan every detail of a perfect day and then give the groom’s idiot best friend five minutes of total power? Enter Nate (Glen Powell), a speechwriter-for-hire who helps people write incredible best man speeches. To keep the best man from embarrassing himself (and the newlyweds), Nate uses his list of don’ts: Don’t mention the exes, don’t be rated R, and don’t bum everyone out. Nate’s system never fails. That is, until he meets Dan (Nicholas Braun).

But as she begins preparing for the months-long quest, she realizes the answers she's seeking might not be on top of a snow-covered mountain. Hilarious, fascinating, and a roller coaster of dizzying, historical what-ifs, Napoleon's Hemorrhoids is a potpourri for serious historians and casual history buffs. In one of Phil Mason's many revelations, you'll learn that Communist jets were two minutes away from opening fire on American planes during the Cuban missile crisis, when they had to turn back as they were running out of fuel. You'll discover that before the Battle of Waterloo, Napoleon's painful hemorrhoids prevented him from mounting his horse to survey the battlefield.

Story
“The Heron” is the nickname a big-city accountant has attached to himself in his new home near San Diego, where he’s using the alias to avoid a hit man who may be after him. It seems a former client believes that The Heron has skipped town with several million dollars not his own. Don Winslow’s ensuing, entertaining yarn is by turns twisty, dark, and comical as we observe the delicate dance between the pursuer and the pursued.

Funny! Funny!
Would you consider the audio edition of VIP Pass: SF Sketchfest to be better than the print version?
Yes, comedy is best spoken out loud.
Have you listened to any of the narrator’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but I will now. loved Dan Savage, Ricky Gervais.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Happy to now know about Sketchfest..
Any additional comments?

An interesting behind the scenes look
There was some pretty cool stuff here. It was kinda introspective in it's format so that you got a look at the after-party of a comedy show or festival... or behind the scenes when hearing a rant from Lewis Black... or an interview from Ricky Gervais. Kind of the guts behind the show itself for those in comedy. While there are funny parts to the whole thing, It wasn't in a format like you're listening to stand-up routines. It was more of a look from the other side of the curtain.
A nice little episode but more interesting than it was funny in my opinion. I would listen to more episodes if they made more. A short listen at a little less than an hour,

A really fun slice of a Fest and interviews!
Would you listen to VIP Pass: SF Sketchfest again? Why?
Yeah, there are some great jokes peppered through and I think will definitely be fun repeated listening or background content while I'm doing chores, etc.
Who was your favorite character and why?
MARIA BAMFORD and JANEANE GAROFALO! I'm very happy they got those two on there, they're comedians I really love listening to on and off stage for their unique perspectives and you don't get to hear them talk off stage all that often.
Also, the SKLAR BROTHERS! What a tour de force of comedy and they had a great scene.
What about the narrator’s performance did you like?
There's so many different narrators I don't think you can really comment on this too much.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yeah, an hour piece is such a great consumable thing.
Any additional comments?
Please make more! I'd love one from Just For Laughs, Moontower, Limestone, etc. Maybe also different types of festivals as well!

Would you listen to VIP Pass: SF Sketchfest again? Why?
it had a lot of my favorite comedians featured...and I didn't get to see these shows in person, so it's fun to be a fly on the wall
Who was your favorite character and why?
Kevin Pollak in Stinker Lets Loose was awesome
Have you listened to any of the narrator’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This was an audio documentary and didn't have a narrator -- which was fine!
Any additional comments?

Fun way to experience a comedy festival!
Any additional comments?
This is NOT an audiobook -- it's a fairly brief, behind-the-scenes / on-the-ground listening experience that gives you a feeling of being at a comedy festival. It's fun and enjoyable and a nice extra for being an Audible customer. If you're expecting an audiobook with a strong narrative, you will be sorely disappointed. If you'd like to just be entertained for a bit, and you like comedy, this could be for you.

Awesome and short comedy highlights
Would you listen to VIP Pass: SF Sketchfest again? Why?
Absolutely. This was a fun and breezy listen, perfect for the commute that gave me the sense of a comedy festival. I attended the festival, but it's impossible to catch everything so I got to hear highlights from the shows I missed.
What was one of the most memorable moments of VIP Pass: SF Sketchfest?
I loved hearing Ricky Gervais in conversation with Christopher Guest. Those are two of my comedy heroes so was awesome to hear them going back and forth!
Have you listened to any of the narrator’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
VIP Pass doesn't really have a narrator, it's more like a documentary which was cool.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I cracked up on the bus during some of the stand up jokes!
