David Carradine's voice is Sal Paradise.

I have read this book several times. I still cried when Carradine read the last lines. Perfect.

This is an abridged version but I do like the narrator. Remember you can return any book.

That was awful!

All the hype I've heard about this over the years. I made myself finish it in hope of finding something interesting, and wanting to be fair with my assessment. You're not missing a thing by skipping this book.

Breathy & stomach growls

The narrator had a nice voice but the constant swallowing sounds, stomach growls & background noise took me out of the story because it was too distracting.

Amazon.com links incorrectly!

If you linked here from the Amazon.com page for the wonderful Matt Dillon narration of ON THE ROAD... well, you are out of luck. Audible downloads this one. Eh. Not the same. Dillon sounds like a young guy regaling his travels with his good friend Dean as he reaches that moment of adulthood when you realize that those benny-dreams are ending and new chapters (whole books!) are starting.

Carradine's voice is... is it wrong to say too old? Too tired? Lacks the energy. More of a man in the December of his days desperately recalling his May days, but...

Fives star book, but this ain't a 5 star reading.

My first Audio book!

Would you consider the audio edition of On the Road to be better than the print version?
