Publisher's summary

Are you tired of getting the standard cookie-cutter answers to questions you aren't even asking?

This candid book offers uncommon answers to both classic and bleeding-edge questions you may have about Christians and Christianity, such as:

Is there a God?

Why do the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus matter?

Why is there so much suffering in the world?

Why do Christians think there is only one way to know God?

How do I reconcile the Bible's picture of Christ's followers with the actual Christians I know who have disappointed me?

Covering such topics as astrophysics, social justice, and acceptance of the LGBTQ community, this one-of-a-kind book is perfect for anyone skeptical of Christianity who values honest answers to their honest questions.

Required reading for Christians too!

Christianity for those who aren’t Christians is a quick and exciting read. It reads more like a case procedural than a book about religion. Each topic has been thoroughly researched and explained within our cultural context using both current and historical references. C.S. Lewis plays a prominent role here and as always brings clarity to complicated questions. I also learned C.S. spent way too much time in a British pub and was good friend with J. R. R. Tolkien. Have doubts about tolerance in our society today? Pastor White dissects this issue roiling in our current culture and smartly describes how tolerance for people is not the same thing as tolerating all ideas as equal. The origin of man, how bad things can happen in a world with God, along with a chapter on evolution, are just a few of the topics covered in this fascinating read.

I would like to add that this book is written in a conversational style containing both humor and meticulously researched footnotes and references.

I am reviewing the audio version of this book and the reader is excellent. I liked him better at 1.25 speed but he was very articulate and his reading kept my interest.

I listened to this book in one sitting. I am not sure it all sank in the first time and I can’t wait to listen again. This time with a pen and a notebook.

listen to the rational bible, the same narrator.

Tom Parks is doing us all a great favor. I give thanks to God for him. He also reads the rational bible by Dennis Prager. I really didn't think anyone else could do it.

I Loved This Book

For years I have struggled with understanding the purpose of why Jesus Christ was crucified and raised from the dead by God. This book gave me the reason I have been searching for and an understanding of why it was necessary.

God is giving each us a gift of love, a free gift through Jesus, and an opportunity for each of us to have a relationship with God. But we need to accept that gift. And I do.

Clear, True, Kind, and Helpful

James Emery White has written a masterpiece for those who are antagonistic to Christ to those who are zealous for Him as the transformer of their lives. I plan to use the book in a series of messages for our community.
