Publisher's summary

Written by an L. A. County homicide detective and former atheist, Cold-Case Christianity examines the claims of the New Testament using the skills and strategies of a hard-to-convince criminal investigator.

Christianity could be defined as a “cold case”: it makes a claim about an event from the distant past for which there is little forensic evidence. In Cold-Case Christianity, J. Warner Wallace uses his nationally recognized skills as a homicide detective to look at the evidence and eyewitnesses behind Christian beliefs. Including gripping stories from his career and the visual techniques he developed in the courtroom, Wallace uses illustration to examine the powerful evidence that validates the claims of Christianity.

A unique apologetic that speaks to listeners’ intense interest in detective stories, Cold-Case Christianity inspires listeners to have confidence in Christ as it prepares them to articulate the case for Christianity.

J. Warner Wallace: My new favorite Policeman

I have long been a believer of the claims of the Bible, and have even put them to the test. Mr. Wallace, however, lays out the case for not just the possibility of the claims of the Gospels, but that they are the only reasonable theory for the controvercial history outlying the early days of Christianity. Wallace shows us how the Justice System approaches evidence, eyewitnesses, bias, and a plethora of other topics; applying this approach to the New Testament documents. I've been given a new look at those ancient texts through this book.

I could not reccommend this book more emphatically! Please listen!

It makes sense if you don't think too much.

I was given this as a gift by a well-meaning person who knows I am a former believer in the Christian religion. I appreciate that they are concerned for me, but I am not concerned with going to hell. I tried for years to be a Christian but I just don't buy it. From the first to the last chapter I found myself shaking my head and disagreeing. I found some of his tactics of unearthing facts from cold case files interesting. I did note that he never concluded that the devil or a demon committed any of the crimes he spoke about in the books despite the fact he said that we should be open to the supernatural. The case he built doesn't hold water when held up to scrutiny. There are just so many issues... I found "From Jesus to Constantine: A History of Early Christianity By: Bart D. Ehrman, The Great Courses," much more interesting.

Wow, this was good

This was a good book. This book was recommended to me by another Christian. Wallace uses his experience as an investigator to examine the Bible. Wow, this was good. If you like true crime tv shows, cold case tv shows or forensics TV shows this book is for you! The same investigative skills are put to work. It is really good!

Better than Lee Strobel

Goes into depth on many questions I’ve had, and yet I haven’t heard answers to from “similar” works. Recommended.

Dry

while the information in this book has great incite in a professional way to view and believe in the word. the delivery is dry and rough to stay focused. takes a certain mindset to finish this. I would still recommend the book but only for a small subset of individuals

Detailed and packed with written flavor

I absolutely love that the author read this book. The sub textual tones in many of his phrasing choices really added the extra punch to the mountain of facts and explanations he included. This book is filled with an amazing amount of apologetics! I absolutely loved this book.

Definitely a Periodic Re-Read

There are a few books I like to read and listen to each year (On Guard, Tactics, etc.) and now Cold-Case Christianity. There is such a wealth of information here and I really enjoy the methodic nature of the process. Being a software engineer, it genuinely appeals to the way my mind works. I have the Audio and the written version of the book and I hope to take a stab at facilitating a group in the coming year to educate others on this topic. Loved it! Thanks.

The well thought out and very effective defense of the evidence we have for our faith was so wonderful to listen to.

I liked the well paced and thorough style of writing that systematically addressed the evidence we have for the not only the life of Christ but the reliability of those who put all of his exploits and words to pen. It made a great case not only for Christ but for the reliability of the apostles and those who traveled with them and penned their words. Thank you for the wonderful read(listen).

Proof that the gospels are truth

This book is proof that the 4 gospels are the very eye witness testimony about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
