It was a fun Vegas getaway—until I woke up married to my ex-fiancé’s brother.

After Watson brother #1 ditched me at the altar, I stopped believing in happily-ever-afters. So I have no clue how I ended up saying “I do” to Brooks—Watson brother #2—somewhere between tequila shots and bad decisions.

Okay, that may not be true.

Sheriff Watson has been a charming thorn in my side ever since his brother left our small ranch town in his rearview mirror. He’s a little too steady, a little too sweet, and way too intuitive because he sees through my facade. But no matter how tempting he is, he’s still a Watson.

I demand an annulment. He refuses, bargaining four real dates before he signs.

Fine. I’ll sabotage each one and keep my heart safely locked away. It’s easier this way because he has no idea the secret I’m keeping.

Of course, Brooks doesn’t go down easy—he has enough faith for both of us. He tackles my fears at every turn, making me wonder what would happen if I went all in.

But trusting the wrong man once nearly ruined me—doing it again might finish the job.

I really enjoyed this story. I was a little confused about the timeline though. Lotty was about to marry Brooks brother, Holden, at 19 but he left her at the alter because he was only going to marry her because she was pregnant but she had a miscarriage 3 days before the wedding. 10 years later she drunk married Brooks, the younger brother, who has been in love with her his whole life. he has been friends with her brother and cousins forever. now, she is 35 and he is 34. the math isnt mathing. that's more than 10 years.

TW:
• Infertility
• Pregnancy loss

the story is really good. Brooks was really patient with Lotty. he knew her better than anyone. he knew he could win her over. Holden really hurt her. it wasn't just Holden though. it was his parents too. the parents were so cruel to her. I think the mother did more damage than Holden honestly. I always get annoyed when a FMC gives up on love and an HEA after one heartbreak, but after learning more (stick with it), you realize it was more than Holden leaving her at the alter (see TW).

this is a sweet story and I think you will really enjoy it. the narrators are excellent. you cant go wrong with these two.

really cute

Okay I know I said the last book was my favorite so far but this just stole that spot! I love a good drunken Vegas wedding story. I've been waiting to hear about Lottie's story, I already loved her just from the small snippets we got in the previous books and this did not disappoint.

She was an amazing lead FMC and loved how she stood up for herself.
Brooks, what a MAN! The yearning for Lottie all these years is giving me Conrad vibes. The fact that multiple times he was willing to ignore his feelings if it meant she's was going to be happy. Ugh, I swooned over him so much.

Not majorly related to the plot but I don't really like Walker Matthews, but something tells me that maybe he might potentially be a main character one day. If so l really hope he's got a good reason for being a the way he is and is secretly a yearning softy! 😅

A note about the author - I love seeing the growth in Piper's writing! My first series of hers was the Bailey's and the growth is just insane, she really just keeps getting better and better. She's easily become one of my favorite authors.🌼

Also, go KC 🏈

Favorite so far! 🌼

I am obsessed with any book that Piper Rayne writes because I’ve never read one that I didn’t just love and enjoy so much. I adored the Plain Daisy Ranch series and I’m so glad they decided to continue the series with Lottie and Brooks’ story.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about their journey. It might had started out all backwards but it was a beautiful evolution into a relationship. Brooks had me swooning and I couldn’t get enough of him. The spice was a slow burn but when it hit, it was so worth the wait!

I can’t wait to see whose story we get next!

Both narrators did an amazing job with this book and I will definitely be listening to other books narrated by them!

Great story!

This was an enjoyable story but not my favorite by this author. I’m obsessed with the cover though.
