The desert planet Arrakis, called Dune, has been destroyed. Now, the Bene Gesserit, heirs to Dune's power, have colonized a green world—and are tuning it into a desert, mile by scorched mile.

Chapterhouse Dune is the last book Frank Herbert wrote before his death: A stunning climax to the epic Dune legend that will live on forever.

From the furthest reaches of space to the microbiology of pandemics and gene manipulation, to the future implications of technology for societies similar to our own, science fiction is a fascinating genre that offers listeners a wide variety of ways to access its themes. In looking for the best sci-fi audiobook series, it can be difficult to know where to start due to the genre's sheer number of iterations and variations. But what these series have in common is an acute devotion to telling a good story, as well as fully building out the worlds therein. Third times a charm. I have made through the whole series 3 times. This one leaves you wanting the whole story... Another 10,000 years please.

Next book please.... Oops. The end.

Frank Herbert, what a mind he had. This saga was a discourse on humanity, and I have been made more by taking the journey with him. Well done.

Saga concluded. Great Journey!

Not as strong as the first in this reboot trilogy, but necessary to complete the original Dune saga. Ever forward does the universe churn.

Simon Vance as always is spectacular, but I did find the multitude of narrators distracting at times even though I’m familiar enough with this series to know what’s going on. Individually they are all talented, but the sudden changes with the same characters and often time different pronunciations can be confusing.

Meandering conclusion, still Dune

No Spoiler--
This is a satisfying ending.

I have learned a great deal about the inner workings & reason for secret societies through my immersion in the Dune series.
Don't forget, Herbert was a true Adept.

Learn & understand much from his tales of a few learned, a few highly evolved & Knowing Witches standing in the background, paring their nails.

Nothing is as it seems, apparently.

Bravo!

I love this series! Frank Herbert writes wonderfully and it is greatness!
the narrators are good. it takes some getting used to as they rotate chapters versus voicing specific characters but it is a great book!
