Publisher's Summary

Listen to crickets, cicadas, and other nocturnal creatures hum and trill beside a babbling brook in the lush forest of Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The various noises of the night combine to create a sense of peacefulness, a perfect way to let the mind unwind.

Unlike canned nature sounds created in a studio, renowned acoustic ecologist Gordon Hempton gives you the real deal. He travels the world recording remarkable locations that capture the essence of the place itself. His lifelong mission is to preserve nature through sound, and his soundscapes are produced with such care and quality that you feel as if he has truly brought a slice of the world into your home.

Name is misspelled

This has some nice and relaxing nature sounds. But I’d like to point out that the title is misspelled. It should be Cove (not Cave). Cades Cove is in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Too sharp and noisy to fall asleep too..

For a little bit the sound of the chirping and gnashing insects is comforting but then it becomes a bit too much and turns into this indistinguishable mesh of noise that switches your brain on rather than “off” (at least for me). I much preferred the sound of water on the other sound scapes.

Great quarantine escape

Nice to fall asleep to. It's a decent way to experience nature considering we can't travel the way we used to.

Perfect

wonderful recording of a babbling brook. I saw a review complaining that the volume was too loud... really? did their device not have a volume control? duh. if you are not intelligent enough to figure out how the volume control works on your device, then I feel sorry for you, because then you are not intelligent enough to enjoy this magnificent recording.

Another Wonderful Soothing Mix

This is another fantastic sound scape from Gordon Hempton. Soothing natural sounds from Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountain Natural Park. Gentle flowing waters ease your stress away. Great for falling asleep or just to relax. I've already played this several times. Wonderfully relaxing!

Be Transported to This Magical World

As someone who spent allot of their childhood and continues to visit Cades Cove several times a year, this recording magically transports me to a place that I love. I play this recording when I am settling in for the night and it is as if, I’m falling asleep in that campground one again.
