Publisher's Summary

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Be More Pirate written and read by Sam Conniff Allende.

Mischief. Purpose. Power.

Pirates didn't just break the rules, they rewrote them. They didn't just reject society, they reinvented it. Pirates didn't just challenge the status quo, they changed everyfuckingthing. Pirates faced a self-interested establishment, a broken system, industrial-scale disruption and an uncertain future. Sound familiar?

Be More Pirate unveils the innovative strategies of golden age pirates, drawing parallels between the tactics and teachings of legends like Henry Morgan and Blackbeard with modern rebels like Elon Musk, Malala and Banksy.

Featuring takeaway sections and a guide to build you own pirate code 2.0, Be More Pirate will show you how to leave your mark on the 21st century. Whatever your ambitions, ideas and challenges, Be More Pirate will revolutionise the way you live, think and work today - and tomorrow.

Tremendous

Introduced to this by chance and loved bed it so much went for Kindle and paperback editions as well. A simple principle beautifully explored and found myself thinking about parts regularly. Concept of good mischief one that needs to be applied to life in general!

Excellent. After ploughing through the audiobook at a rate of knots I'll be sure to be ordering a copy to add to my office library.

Becareful!

"Read this book at your own peril" - ought to be part of the marketing.

I have listened to the book twice now, I absolutely love it - there are so many thoughts and ideas in here that I have had to listen to it twice to get them to sink in (I am not the fastest learner).

I am looking at my life and where I am through my own and the actions of others.
The book has left me wondering/questioning what I do next, I am questioning my own personal code, questioning how my profession (fundraising) operates and conducts itself, and questioning how I create good trouble within the sector to really see change.

Once you have read this book, there is no going back.

We'll look back and say 'This is where it started'

When the book said 'Pirates didn't just change the status quo, they changed everyfuckingthing' I was sceptical at first. But now that I've finished it, I know one thing for certain - Be More Pirate has changed me and it will change the status quo more than any pirate before it! And when everyfuckingthing has changed, we'll will look back and say 'This is where it started.'

Simply poor

Just my opinion but the story is a bouncing ball not knowing where to land and to use PIRATE is a ‘hook’ without any chance of catching a crocodile - waste of money
