Publisher's Summary

A top 100 international Amazon best seller

From USA Today best-selling Author Cora Kenborn comes a steamy captive to lovers romance full of unstoppable action, intense rivalry, and heart-pounding twists.

Obsession is the deadliest vice.

Carrera.

A word whispered in fear and respect. A name to avoid at all costs. Until I see something I shouldn't and come face to face with it.

Abducted. Held against my will. A prisoner of a war I know nothing about.

But my kidnapping is more than a case of mistaken identity, and my captor is more than a stranger.

He's the heir to the devil.

A ruthless cartel prince who takes everything and promises nothing. I should hate him, but the deeper Valentin Carrera drags me into his corrupt world, the harder it becomes to resist either one.

He's determined to take more than my freedom.

He wants to own my soul.

I'm at his mercy. A plea that means nothing to a man whose hands are stained with blood.

Until that stain?

That blood?

It becomes mine.

And I'm no longer a prisoner of war.

I am the war.

The Carrera Cartel books are all stand-alones and can be listened to out of sequence. However, if you prefer to avoid spoilers, it's highly recommended that you listen to them in order.

New auto download for me!!!!! I love a good gangster story. Sexy, Thrilling, diabolical , Hot, Hot, Hot!! No one is good in this story but oh so deliciously BAAAAD!!! Well written, exciting from the opening words, ( a little predictable at times) but well worth the credit, coin and time!!! Top this off with the panty melting voice of Brian Pallino ( who knew)swoon and Sarah Puckett’s also award worthy narration....... Well I loved it and can’t wait for more from Ms Kenborn👏👏👏👏👏BRAVO

3 STARS

Overall I liked this book it kept me interested until the end. There are a few moments when I really felt bad for Cereza (nickname given by H). Lots of action and close calls. It was a little too insta-love for me. I needed more of an actual relationship to develop between the two main characters before the L word was thrown around. That’s the reason I’m rating it 3 stars, which for me means I liked it but didn’t love it. I was just missing that spark and chemistry that makes you swoon when the couple is together. The plus is that even though this is a series it’s also a standalone and the next book I believe is a different couple. There is a story ARC that I’m assuming will continue on with the next book. Narration was great! I enjoyed the accents and the fact there was two male narrators. This book is told in multiple POVs. *AudiobookObsessionVIPreviewer*

Exciting mafia story

I really liked this Cartel drama. It's not often you find feisty heroines in mafia dramas and this story definitely had one. The chemistry and attraction were great as was the action and dialogue. My only complaint is that this book lacked steam. The love scenes were very quick and not very detailed so it was definitely lacking the sexiness one would expect from a dark mafia drama. I was hoping it would happen but it never did. So that is a definite minus for me in this kind of book. Otherwise the story was really good and so was the narration. Would love it even more if the narration was duet as these two narrators would sound great together. Overall a good listen that and story that just needed some more heat and steam to make it a repeat listen and a 5 star. Pink Flamingo Audiobook Obsession

Mexican Cartel

The Carrera Cartel by Cora Kenborn is awesome! I loved the suspense, the twists and turns. The book has dark and dangerous characters, vivid descriptions that can be brutal, but lend a sense of authenticity. The narration was incredible. Brian Pallino, Sarah Puckett, Alan Carlson all added so much with their narration and distinctive perspectives to the storyline. #Audiobook Obsession Reviewer #Pink Flamingo Productions. This book was my first Mexican cartel listen and not my last. I can't wait to hear the next book by this author.

Slayed by the Queen

Eden was his kryptonite. He was danger in the flesh. Together they were a stick of C4, threatening to detonate and destroy everything and anything within striking distance. This book was pure, raw, emotion that ripped open every wound that dared to close. Death, destruction, sex, and heat. Cora told a twisted, dark tale of mafia life. The Carrera Cartel are fearless and loyal. Eden’s demons wanted to come out and play. She struggled with letting go....until him. Val was the only person that she could abandon the sliver of sanity that she held onto. She commanded Val’s demons to give up control so that she could soothe them into submission, but still allow them to surface when he needed to protect her. I could not stop listening to this read. The narrators were simply magnificent and their voices drew me into this Mafia World and I gladly took a seat. Reveling in the sweet seduction of dirty talk and filth. Picturing the need and attraction between Eden and Val was easy because the story was read with such passion and angst. This book hit that sweet spot where you teeter on the brink and fall into the abyss, bouncing off every emotion until you land softly at the end where all is right with the world. As much as I loved Eden and Val, I’m looking forward to Mateo’s story. The twist at the end made my breath catch and I could feel Val’s confusion, his heartbreak...just everything in that moment of realization and truth. This was so worth the wait and I’m looking forward to listening to the rest of the series. Cora, you should definitely take a bow with this one!

Sexy as hell

This book is about the relationship between Eden, a sassy, damaged, bartender and Valentino (Val) a suave, sexy cartel boss. These two meet at the bar and are flirty but never really act on that. Eden doesn't really believe in relationships after her marriage ended and Val can't get too close to anything because of his dangerous lifestyle. Eden has no idea who Val is at first or that she actually works at his family's cantina. Something very tragic happens one night while Eden is leaving work which changes her life in more than one way forever. Due to this event Eden is thrust into Val's world. Eden and Val are pretty explosive from the start but it is a bit of a rocky start. Eden has to navigate this new dangerous world she's found herself in. Val has to decide how much he is willing to risk for love. There is a lot of action in this book. The love scenes are hot as hell and you really "see" the chemistry between Val and Eden. This story is pretty angsty up until the last few chapters. Brian, Sarah & Alan do an amazing job of bringing the characters to life. I love the accent, it is sexy AF. Cora is a talented writer. Her characters have so much depth and power. #FlockReviewTeam # PInkFlamingoProductions #AudioObsessionReviewer

AMAZING Dark Mafia Romance!

This was my first Cora Kenborn's book, and won't be my last. This is the first book in The Carrera Cartel Series, an amazing dark mafia romance. Valentin and Eden's story is suspenseful, filled with danger, violence, action, and twists and turns. Valentin is dark, ruthless, and powerful. Eden is strong, determined, independent, and brave. The impressive cast of supporting characters is intriguing. The world building and the storyline are intricate and enthralling. Impossible to put it down. I HIGHLY recommend it! Brian Pallino, Sarah Puckett and Alan Carlson did a wonderful job with the narration. I am looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series, Faded Gray Lines, Mateo's story. #AudiobookObsessionVIP

A Captivating & Intense Ride & Fantastic Listen🎧

This book is amazing, it is a fantastic romantic suspense! The story is dark, dangerous and intense, it grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it the entire time. This is the type of book that you can’t put down because you need to know what happens next. Cora Kenborn is a gifted author with a creative mind and an awesome writing style. Her characters are complex and well developed, as is the world dynamics of Cartel and their dark and twisted world. Eden Lachey, the lead female unknowingly lands herself in the midst of a battle for power in the Mexican Cartel. I admired her strength and ability to stand up for herself, she does not back down even if the odds are against her. Valentin Carrera, the son of the head of the Carrera Cartel is in the US doing business. He has politicians in his pocket as well as other corrupt officials. Things start going array in his operations, shipments go missing, a hit goes bad and he finds out he is being targeted by a competing family. Then there is her, Eden, his Cereza, the one he vowed to not get involved with but she winds up not only caught up in it but the center of it all. This book is cleverly plotted and there is never a dull moment, with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling suspense and hot romance. There are heartfelt and emotional moments as well. Cora Kenborn, thank you for this great story and the emotional and thrilling rollercoaster ride. I hope to hear more of this series on audio soon. 🎧📚🎧And for the fabulous narration, Brian Pallino, Sarah Puckett & Alan Carlson are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They do an awesome job portraying the characters, humanizing them, giving each their own voice and personality. Brian Pallino played Valentin’s role perfectly, his accent and alpha take no crap attitude was spot on. Sarah Puckett’s Eden was badass with just enough heart and Alan Carlson played the perfect Brody. I loved how they made the roles their own and sounded just as I pictured the characters to sound. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this awesome listen🎧 Thank you @PinkFlamingoProductions @AudiobookObsession #TheFlock #AudiobookObsessionReviewer🎧

how have I not read this author. I was hooked by the end if the first chapter. this has to be one of my favorite mafia stories of 2020. the characters were strong, yet vulnerable. eden was no weak gal. witnessed murder, taken captive. She didn't back down. Val has a messed up family. he finds eden and his life is changed. love is a blurred line between love n hate Sarah Puckett is phenomenal as Eden. Brian Pallino as Val blew me away. I've only ever heard him in rom coms. so sad we won't get to hear more as a mobster. Alan Carlson as Brody was great. highly recommend this book 🎧audiobookobsessionreviewer #flock

Loved it!

This is my first book by Cora Kenborn and I’m not disappointed! Both Val & Eden have drastically different but similar tragic lives. Val, the heir to the Carrera Cartel, is running things in the states. He sees no need in making connections in his line of work because let’s face it, anyone who dare get close to him will have a mark on their back. But all it takes is one meeting with Eden and he’s a goner. Eden, swearing off men, meets Val aka dangerous at the cantina she’s working at. Little does she know, that encounter will lead to so much loss and violence. Blurred Red Lines is deliciously dark with the right amount of action and sexy time. I looked forward to reading what to come in this series! Brian, Sarah, and Alan all did fantastic jobs narrating! 🎧AudioBookObsessionReviewer 🦩PinkFlamingoProductions

Dark Mafia Romance

Blurred Red Lines by Cora Kenborn is a dark mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Brian Pallino, Sarah Puckett, and Alan Carlson. This is the first book in the Carrera Cartel series and each book can be read as a standalone. However, its recommend to read them in order to avoid spoilers. This is the first book of Cora’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed the relationship between Eden and Valentin. I liked that we got Eden, Valentin, and Brody’s points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life. I can’t wait for the next book in the series Faded Gray Lines to be released on audio so I can get Mateo and Leighton’s story. Brian, Sarah, and Alan did an amazing job on the narration. This trio really knows how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future. I would highly recommend this book to anyone that loves mafia/cartel romances, dark romances, or romantic suspense. The Flock Team

All the stars!!!

This is an incredibly good audio. The story is intense, fast paced, convoluted, dark and completely compelling. I have been riveted from start to finish. Both Eden and Val are fabulous characters, but add in Nash, Brody, Mateo and Emilio, and you have even more to draw you in. Sarah Puckett is amazing. Her narration is outstanding. Alan Carlson captures and brings Brody to life. But, for me, the star is the wonderful, gifted, talented Brian Pallino. His voice is beautiful and rich. The loss of this gifted man is one which, as just an audience to his talent, is felt deeply. Be at peace. 💖💖💖💖💖💖💔

Dangerous

This is my first book by Cora Kenborn, and I love it. My favorite books are dark romance which this one definitely falls in that category. There is a lot of danger and suspense in this story with several twists and turns. It captured my attention right from the very beginning and kept me on the edge of my seat all the way until the end. I love the dual point of view from Eden as well as Val plus also Brody a little bit. I also love that this is a standalone as well as book 1 in a series. I can't wait to listen to more books in the world of the Carrera Cartel. I love how Brian Pallino, Sarah Puckett and Alan Carlson give each person their own voice with all sorts of various emotions. They do a wonderful job bringing this story to life. 🎧Pink Flamingo Productions, The Flock Reviewer

The best kind of romantic suspense!

Dark, gritty and delicious, this is a fantastic listen. Blurred Red Lines is the first book I have heard by Cora Kenborn and I hope she keeps them coming! The Carrera Cartel is powerful, and they will do what needs to be done to keep their merchandise selling. When Eden is in the wrong place at the wrong time, she is taken and held by the Valentin. But who knew this little candy apple red haired woman would get under the tough skin of this commanding man. And our story begins. This is not a story for the light hearted. Kenborn does not weaken the violence, She writes with the ferocity of the content, and at the same time she humanizes the characters. I love Val. He is a conflicted boss, ready to deal with the problems occurring, yet he has a heart. Eden is a fabulous character. She's no pushover and is ready for revenge. Twists, turns and surprises fill the story with violence, suspense, passion and love. This is my kind of book and I can't wait for more. This narration team is phenomenal. Brian Pallino scores as Val with a sensual, yet dangerous sounding Mexican accent. He is just so good! Sarah Puckett as Eden brings that vengeful powerhouse of a woman, ready to give as good as she gets in all aspects of her life. And Alan Carlson as Brody. He is fantastic, really enjoying his narration as he brings him to life. I loved them all, found they flowed well together and enjoyed this immensely!
