Publisher's Summary

New York Times best-selling author and nationally renowned minister Timothy Keller unlocks new insights into the life of Jesus Christ.

King's Cross is Timothy Keller's revelatory look at the life of Christ as told in the Gospel of Mark. There have been many biographies of Jesus, but few will be as anticipated as this one by Keller, the man Newsweek calls "a C. S. Lewis for the 21st century".

In it, Keller shows how the story of Jesus is at once cosmic, historical, and personal, calling each of us to look anew at our relationship with God. Like Keller's other books, it has tremendous crossover appeal, but it is also ideal for the faithful, those who are looking for closer connections to Jesus and Christianity.

Please note: This book has also been published under the alternate title Jesus the King: Understanding the Life and Death of the Son of God.

Stay with the story, you will enjoy it. Not something that you will forget, even if you need to come back to the story after a period of time.

    "so good"

Excellent book. First book I've read of Keller's and definitely won't be my last! He takes you through the book of Mark and ties in historical facts along with other Scripture to bring out the glorious truths of Christ.

Only reason just 4 stars is not read by Keller, but still well done, and I think the Reason for God still outshines it, but this takes off where it ended and is so powerful in zooming on Jesus, Reality Himself!!

    "Understanding"

I really loved this book. Timothy Keller has a great way of communicating the gospel through historical context that I would not have understood by just reading the bible. I have given this book to 3 people already and will use it to have a conversation with my father about who Jesus is. This is a must read for believers and skeptics alike.

"If you want a faithful but relevant presentation of the Gospel"

What would happen if you had a presentation of the Gospel that is as faithful to the first century context as N.T. Wright without capitulating in its application to 21st century priorities and perspective? That would be as faithful to the Biblical understanding of the cross as John Piper without falling into medieval categories and slavery to reformed tradition?
    This is the book.
