Publisher's Summary

"I've told my kids for years that God doesn't make mistakes," writes Mary Beth Chapman, wife of Grammy award winning recording artist Steven Curtis Chapman. "Would I believe it now, when my whole world as I knew it came to an end?" Covering her courtship and marriage to Steven Curtis Chapman, struggles for emotional balance, and living with grief, Mary Beth's story is our story - wondering where God is when the worst happens. In Choosing to SEE, she shows how she wrestles with God even as she has allowed him to write her story - both during times of happiness and those of tragedy. Readers will hear firsthand about the loss of her daughter, the struggle to heal, and the unexpected path God has placed her on.

    "Moving testimony of healing"

Mary Beth shares the heart breaking and heart lifting journey of incredible loss amid Gods redeeming grace. Much of her story was familiar after listening to Steven Curtis Chapmans book first.
This is a story of faith, adoption, and determination. Well read and moving. Thank you Mary Beth. You are a warrior.

Loved listening to this book. I cried with you in your times of sorrow and rejoiced in the victory of your healing. Will definitely pass it on and most likely listen again. Thank you being God's instrument!

    "Fabulous"

I chose this book because we are in the process of adopting from China. I loved hearing her heart on adoption and that so many of her struggles are mine as well. I didn't realize that the book was primarily about loss. I sobbed and sobbed, but am thankful I kept listening and got to hear that despite all "Spring is Coming".

    "Already read it twice!"

Awesome book - I've already listened to it twice! It's the type of book that no matter how many times you read it, you'll always pick up something new. It makes me sad that the Chapman's had to go this grief but happy in the fact that Mary Beth was able to write this book in order to help others.

    "Sad but worth reading"

I love how Mary Chapman gives God the glory and constantly depends on him through the death of her daughter.

Get ready to cry but also see God in using this story for His glory.

    "Bare honesty."

This book had me crying so much that I had to get the Audible version as I couldn't read any more. It's a heart-wrenching tale but one that many can relate to in part. Life is tough, even for Christians. We don't always have the answers but trust in God. The bare honesty appealed to me, even though I cried buckets.

    "Very positive book"

I was worried about reading this book as it was about the death of a child but, although it is very honest about the pain it is also very positive about the story surrounding the family and the support they received and how God has faithfully supported them through this.
I particularly like the musical introductions to the chapters from Stephen Curtis Chapman.
The narration was perfect and really conveyed the depth of feeling that was evident throughout the book. A truly moving account of how God will hold your hand even through the darkest of times if only you will let him x
