Customers, followers, subscribers. It's easy to just look at the numbers. How many likes? How many purchases? How many email subscribers? But as entrepreneurs, we have to remember that there are people behind all that data. People who are looking to us to be a leader, to give advice, and to care. In this dog-eat-dog world, these are the people who are looking for someone who they can trust and who they know have their best interests in mind.

If you're like many people, you might associate debate with a school club, or perhaps a TV political debate that features two or more candidates talking over each other. But if these are your only associations with debating, you're missing out on an intellectual pursuit that can help you in all aspects of your daily life. The ability to debate - to present persuasive arguments, pierce the logic of others, and turn the tables against withering cross-examinations - is one of the truest tests of one's intellectual capacity.

Some great insights I'll be taking to my Podcasting.
Not as much here for Podcasters as I was lead to believe... but what is applicable to Podcasting is incredibly insightful, intelligently explained, and most importantly deeply researched.

ESSENTIAL FOR COMMUNICATORS
Would you listen to Beyond Powerful Radio again? Why?
If you make your living from talking or if communicating compellingly is important to you then this book is brilliant. I love Geller's line "tell the truth and never be boring". But there's a lot more to it than that. There's great info here for anyone who does public speaking and really for all media professionals, radio producers, presenters, podcasters -. I'll be recommending it to anyone who will listen :)
What was one of the most memorable moments of Beyond Powerful Radio?
Geller's maxim - "Tell the truth and never be boring" is classic. And the more I think about it the more important it seems.
What does Valerie Geller bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She reads it in a very engaging way and this compels you to take on board the messages. I think you get that when you read it too, but the force of her personality coming through in her reading makes her messages even more urgent. I like the way you can hear a smile in her voice at times. She's very likeable.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
So far it's made me laugh.
Any additional comments?
If you're a public speaker get it. If you're in media it's compulsory.

A Diamond in Professional wisdom
This is an exceptional book in content and in value. Truly a product of a life time experience at the frontline of media "war-rooms". You will enjoy the trip and you'll be way ahead if you understand, adopt to your own talents and properly execute the lessons of people who lived this life and passing the experience to us as true teachers always do. Beautiful voice, excellent performance, invaluable content. Valerie Geller has given us a diamond of her professional wisdom. The best way to thank her is to put the book into practice and create really powerful radios. Also buy her books and give them as gifts to your children who dream to fight for a better world through media...give them the power of...first hand experience...

Even if you have the book, you need the audiobook
Like the book, this audiobook is essential for any broadcaster’s library. The audiobook is a wonderful and different way to learn the skills necessary for great radio and podcasts. I spent two hours listening to it on a plane and I didn’t realize we had landed. The additional clips from some of the world’s best broadcasters brought it all together. In particular, talk host Phil Hendrie was both motivational and conversational. Finally, Valerie gets this. In the 21st Century of audio, she will help everyone be the best they can be. Highly recommended!!!
