In Joel's Schwartzberg's 10-plus years as a strategic communications trainer, the biggest obstacle he's come across - one that connects directly to nervousness, stammering, rambling, and epic fail - is that most speakers and writers don't have a point. They typically have just a title, a theme, a topic, an idea, an assertion, a catchphrase, or even something much less. This book shows you how to identify your point, leverage it, stick to it, and sell it and how to train others to identify and successfully make their own points.

A book that will change the way you present
Where does The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs
My presentations will never be the same! I learned so much from this book. I listened to this book in one sitting! Steve Jobs’ presentations catapulted him to messianic status and Apple to being the epicycloid of the smart phone industry. Although his presentations seems informal and spontaneous, this book clearly shows a pattern that Jobs used and emphasizes the hours of practice that produced these insanely great presentations. Toastmasters International has been helping people learn and practice tools to help them become great speakers for decades. This book takes those principles of gestures, eye contact, using a prop, writing it out, organizing the content, using vocal variety and the pause, and gives examples of where jobs used them and what he said.
Then comes the “insanely great” part: Jobs threw in a “Holy Smokes!!!” moment and reinterpreted the use of slides. How to create the HS moment is included and can be adapted to any topic. For anyone who uses PowerPoint in their presentations, this book is a must! Learning how to use the slides like Jobs did can change the audience from yawning to inspired.
When I want to increase my understanding of a topic, I borrow the book from the library and buy the Audible book. I listen as I read. This narrator made a mess of the book. Many paragraphs were totally skipped, he paraphrased and changed words. He totally skipped examples from Steve’s speeches. He read so slowly that when I listened to the book alone, I had to change the reading rate to 1.5.

Take my review with a grain of salt
Would you listen to The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs again? Why?
I did not like this book. Part of the reason I think is legitimate for everyone. The book, while giving a couple of good, unique ideas, for the most part makes obvious points. Now, it does this by using examples from Steve Job's presentations. These real-life examples were need and added to the book.
However, the reason that I say take my review with a grain of salt may be because I was asking too much of this book. It may be that someone in the business world who does business-related presentations may find the ideas more useful. As a law professor, however, I did not find much that I feel like I could use in my day-to-day classroom interactions.

If you give PowerPoint presentations, this helps
What made the experience of listening to The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs the most enjoyable?
So I'll start off this review with a quick glimpse at our table of contents. Throughout this review we'll revisit.... you get the point. Most presentations are death. This book does an excellent job of giving you fresh alternative thinking to what most have us have either been taught in business presentations or taught ourselves. Like all books you'll get out of it as much as you put into it. But the information contained in the book helps you understand why great presenters like Steve Jobs and Nancy Duarte do what they do and how it is far more effective. What I liked the most is how so much of it is grounded in science. I've already bought copies of this book for my direct reports.
What did you like best about this story?
Science meets practical, intuitive reasoning.
What insight do you think you’ll apply from The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs?
More than anything it reminded me of the need to start from the ground up, literally putting words on paper per page before doing the design writing.
Any additional comments?
More than worth the money.

Must Read
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this book to anyone who finds themselves with an audience in front of them, whether in a church, school, or other function.
Have you listened to any of Carmine Gallo’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
no
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
no
Any additional comments?
I work with priests and seminarians on accent modification. The ideas presented in the book are so clear that the process of writing a sermon/homily is easier. Some ideas do not apply, but overall, many do apply. A clear presentation makes intelligibility easier.

What disappointed you about The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs?
Lots of blah blah blah and then oh there's a secret step 1. Then lots of blah blah and then oh there's secret step 2. You are better off getting a book about the man himself which had more insight than this person who talks about himself more than any thing else
Has The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs turned you off from other books in this genre?
no

I'm on my third run through, I listen everytime I have an important presentation to deliver.
Any additional comments?
I have only used a handful of the tips in this book and they have worked a treat. I recently gave a presentation that a second person had added slides to. My slides were "Jobs style", the others were traditional bullet points and text. I noticed the audience switching from captivation to bored disinterest and back again between the different types of slides. Enough said!

good but gushing
contains some great tips but the gushing adoration of Steve Jobs was a bit much at times.

Still a good read as it’s based on human principles
Many books become outdated in business cause they are based on strategies or tactics this is not the case here. Here it’s about principals which are timeless and priceless

Repetitive, did I say repetitive
Don't use bullet points, 3 is the magic number and rehearsal is key. Well that's the book. But if you want it repeated again and again listen to the book

Great book, very inspiring
Would you consider the audio edition of The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs to be better than the print version?
I only listen to the audio edition due to personal reasons, however I would recommend both as print is good to make your own personal notes, so you can re-read over and over again. I listen to the book whenever I need a boost in my thinking to kick start my mind and to inspire me on.
well worth the purchase.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs?
There are many memorable moments, but I like the one when his remote presentation tool gave up. Most people would fluff their lines and die, but not this man, he was a great pro.
What about Carmine Gallo’s performance did you like?
Great voice and delivery, I liked it.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
He made me smile like a clown on the tube to work and back.
Any additional comments?
Great work.
